    How's your weather aka snow

Heres my view from yesterday and unsurprisingly it's little changed today.

I measured the depth on the drive . 10" no less. Bloody stuff

We have nearly half an inch. Shocking. I was promised 'heavy snow'. I'd have the weathermen shot. I wanted real snow.

You're lucky. It doesn't comes as far as the Isle of Wight. Moved here 5 years ago and kids sledges have never been used. Coming from the north, I do miss it. :(

Checking in from SE Kent, about 1 inch of snow, icy roads and about -1.5 C according to my car's thermometer. Certainly nothing here on the scale of the warnings issued, although I understand North Kent has been more affected.

About two inches here nothing spectacular, although go inland for about 10 miles plenty more

We had about 2" Thursday. Nothing since, but apart from gritted roads / cleared paths it's all still here.

We're half way to about a foot of nice powder today. I cleared the driveway once already and will do it again this evening. First big east coast storm of the year. I'm glad I invested the extra $3500 for the 4MATIC!

It started snowing at about 9pm last night, and there is a ground covering left now.

These were taken at about 11.30 pm last night.

We had several inches last night in Bristol and it has frozen, so had to dump the car at 7am this morning and walk home. Only about a mile though

Will go out and try to rescue my car later on

Zero inches here, but it never really snows around London. It's absolutely p*ssing down with rain though.

Saturday rush hour in the big smoke (weekend before last). Lots of heat generated, it appears.

My part of Hampshire is covered in it. Made it home in my MX5, 18 miles in four and a half hours of idiot-infested A31. Special mention to the idiot A7 driver, the chap in the Masa 4200 who thought i was going a bit slow on the dual carriageway, tried to overtake and went completely sideways behind me and the Volvo driver I went past stuck trying to wheelspin up the hill on the Alresford bypass. I would have stopped to help but I'm not that stupid...

This is just after setting off:

    :thumbleft:

I think I encountered some relatives of the ones you described coming home

2 hours to do 6 miles and that was using all the short-cuts I could think of.

My wife has taken nearly 2 hours (so far) to do the same trip on the A roads and doesn't expect to be home for at least another 30-40 minutes.

Re: How's your weather aka snow

My missus has taken 5 hours to get from Staines to the last available hotel room in Maidenhead. She was aiming for just outside Oxford, but M40, M4 and all roads between were gridlocked so she eventually gave up. Makes my 3 hours from my friend Mr Pipedreamer's house in Sussex to our place this afternoon seem a positive doddle, but I can assure you it wasn't: I've never driven in such appalling conditions on a motorway before...

The idiocy and incompetent driving i witnessed earlier is beyond belief,i took the most rural route on my way home, purely to avoid the masses who have no throttle or brake control on the main roads,i still got caught behind numptys who believed that full throttle on icy surfaces is the best way to climb mild gradients  ,i easily went up these hills in a big heavy fwd auto in 2nd gear at idle without the traction control kicking in.Please stay at home if you cant operate your vehicle

In Bucharest was a really bad weather in the last days.
It`s a lot of snow and nobody bothered to clean the streets (in this sentence I am referring to the local authorities). The car became the slowest way to get from point A to B.
Fortunately, today, the weather wasn`t that harsh.

Here in Ascot we had a couple of inches overnight and it was nice for the kids to use their sleds over the racecourse.
But, now there is a clear sky the temperature is dropping fast, it will be very icy in the morning so beware if driving.

I just can't believe that there's snow anywhere! Here and at work there's hardly been a flake; no snowy/icy roads, nothing on the ground except a bit of wet and nothing falling except a tiny tiny bit of sleet four or five days ago. Maybe there's a huge umbrella over this part of the world. :?

I did guess that's what you meant :D

Surely you must have had some snow on Monday. There was a blizzard in Tolworth about 4.00pm.
