Your great grandfather is only 80, how old are you :D
Hi!
Maybe you can help me out with ideas. I'm looking for a watch which is suitable for my grandfather.
He'll be 80 in a few months and we'd like to get him a watch for his birthday.
Ideally it'll be a quartz model since he won't wear it the whole day and doesn't have a winder. He doesn't like bracelets ( ;) ), so rubber or leather would be preferred. The dial should be rather clear and easy to read, and it should be rather elegant than sporty.
Any input would be highly appreciated.
:)
Oliver

Oh... and he's my grandfather....
Buy him a watch on a bracelet - remove it before you give it to him and hey presto, quick SC ad and a few ££'s saved

Have you looked at Mondaine?
No. But that's a great idea IMO!Originally Posted by village
Seamaster quarz, nice and good to read.
Thought of that one already - too sporty unfortunately.Originally Posted by sardonix

More classic?
could the silver dial and hands not cause a problem???Originally Posted by sardonix

The AquaTerra Quartz would be great, unfortunately it's only available on bracelet as far as I've seen... and that's a no-no unfortunately.
Or something like this also quarz
I'd be leaning to a Seiko for quartz, great pricing and usually have something for everyone. I would also pick a slim case with thick hands and large legible markers.
Viagra? My grandfathers best friend swears by it. He wears a 1960's Tudor or his !970's rolex Sub!
It's just a matter of time...
