Excellent vid, thanks for sharing. That rear wheel drive monster the 037 is my favourite :D

IMO few things sound as good as the UR and Sport Quattros on full chat. Reminds me of my S2 with a stainless auspuff :(
Superb video

Sadly I dont think that rally will ever be as good as it was in the Group B days...

Yeah the thriller B's were incredible, the in car footage going through crowds always amazes me :)
I seem to remember reading one story that one of the teams was working on a car after a stage and found a spectator's finger in the grill. Not sure how much truth there was in that, because you think you might notice losing something like that
Those spectators are suicidal - look at 2.19 - I can't believe that people do that!
Great link though - thanks for posting.
cheers,
Great great great!!! :bounce:
And this ones makes you shiver, with Kitsch-music and excellent cuts: Klick

The 037 was the first remote-controlled car I got when I was about 2 1/2 - it was steered with a little
box linked with a cable to the car - batteries were already empty on christmas eve

I want a Quattro
And an Integrale
And a RS200
And a Stratos while i'm at it.

Still - some great memories. 8)
Here's some more 037 action - that engine note is really something.
The crowd loves it too :D

Those motors are legendary 315bhp 25 years ago. Superb
I had an S2 which for those that care  was the 20v (RR) engine and running gear in a 90 coupe. 230 ponies was enough back then :D

Very entertaining, although not as challenging to drive as the Chevette HSR I had :)

Ahem, can we be clear on what that Sport is! :D
Circa 225 made, 306bhp short-wheelbase LHD-only special made mostly of kevlar, worth today around £70k.
Was it really one of these you had Chris?
You are right there David with the 306, I was having a mare  315 was the RS2 variant :wink:Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
LOL just checked Wiki and it says 302bhp/306PS so i fail too LOL !!Originally Posted by BigD
My optician is a quattro nut - he has two urs (one is the original 1980-ish one with the four individual headlights) and he had an RS2, he tells me the Sport is a dodgy one as the engine blocks crack and are virtually impossible to get, and the kevlar bonnet is like £10k IF you can find one! When i see him we spend more time talking about cars than my eyes LOL.
Was my dream car at 15 years old in '86  :D
It was - but as I said, my 225 bhp (cosworth pistons etc.) RWD HSR was far more entertaining.Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

A mate of mine had a quattro sport .
I make do with a Group A homologation Rallye Golf
Met him before many years ago when I was looking for an S2. Practice on King St, Mcpherson?Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

I loved navigating in the 6R4, sadly just a clubman car and the RS200 was a joy to behold, again customer spec not full works
I had my first RAC rally at 9 months of age and I can remember the Mikkola and Mouton cars from my childhood - I apparently cried lots from the noise :D
RIP Grp B

I loved the look of the Renault 5 Turbo Group Bs.
I had a 5 GT Turbo, I think it was made from paper
There's a UR Sport parked outside my flat as we speak - not mine though. A mate had a customer car RS200 for a few years - Clarkson crashed it for him and it spent a few years being repaired at the Beeb's expense.
Anyway . back-ish on topic:- http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid ... 167560481#
