    Re: "New PRS14" - SM300 type - specification

Let me say chaps that it's great that Eddie takes suggestions and he knows what would make this one a better seller than the original PRS-14. He makes these cool homages for us to enjoy so we can at least understand that HE is the watch guy and can compile what would work best in the context of the suggestions offered. The bottom line here is that the man should be able to sell the watches he makes so there needs to be something that will sell and make a profit. Timefactors may be his labour of love but I'm sure that it also needs a positive cash flow or all of the cool toys cease to be. I guess I am saying that while we all have our own wish list that small things shouldn't be deal breakers. Good luck finding such high quality MIL spec homages anywhere else.

I am happy that there is the possibility of a PRS-14 successor in the Precista lineup as it is an awesome epitome of a MIL style dive watch, especially on a Bond NATO... The bracelets are a nice idea but all the extra steel costs money. I'm sure that if it is ever a "go" that it will be sorted.

I guess I can't understand the desire for sapphire on a homage watch like this. Acrylic or sapphire wouldn't be a deal breaker for me one way or the other, but surely the market *is* flooded with black dial/date/sapphire divers... Just look at Eddie's own lineup with the PRS-50. Either way, he needs to make a watch that sells and if the majority wants date/sapphire then so be it.

I share your frustration, if one adds up the cost of the wishlist ppl are asking for the cost of the watch will be as much as a secondhand SMP. Its been said many a time that the 14 would have sold a lot better if it had a sapphire crystal yet the 50b didn't exactly hang around when it was released. If perhaps it was stated from the outset that the 'new' 14 was an LE I bet it would sell out again no problem only much quicker.

A bit of positive guessing here... as long as Eddie is not thinking of huge run of 10,000 watches :D and the price stays reasonable, the specific watch details would be irrelevant to his business as they would sell like hotcakes whatever... :) It may be more of a personal question for Eddie to decide where he wants to take his brand/ethos/etc...? And how much time/effort he wishes to spend promoting it...?

Wouldn't they clash with the Rose gold case Eddie?

    Diamonds would be nice :D

How about a (very) limited PVD version (without diamonds)? Not hugely popular, perhaps, but at least Simona will get one and, hopefully, he’ll stop badgering people about it  :D

    Cheers

This project is, after all, for real or is it a another "no" idea?

It's definately for real, it's just a matter of time when Eddie decides the best way forward with the design and the timeframe (in my opinion only :D )

If this doesn't go ahead with the highly anti-magnetic spec, will there be any Faraday-caged diver styles coming out of the Precista stables any time soon? PRS-3, maybe?

As this is my first post here, I'll just add that I like diver-styled watches - but that the vast majority of boutique divers are way too large (for me, at least). The Precista designs, however, are the best of both worlds. The only downside is the font of the logo .

Constructive (?) criticism in the first post, I like it :D

Welcome RTH! I initially felt the same way about the Precista logo, but after seeing it IRL and learning more about the vintage marque, I've found that no only does it not bother me but that it's a selling point.

    Re: "New PRS14" - SM300 type - specification

I had not wished to criticise

I think the logo looks great on the vintage-styled watches, such as the PRS-14 and PRS-50, but perhaps not on the more modern stylings of the PRS-17. What a philistine I am... But whatever comes out, I am sure it'll be good (and hopefully anti-magnetic  )

I don't think there is any concern for a clash of the diamonds and rose gold. Just look at this:
