Here you go............
I should be receiving my new (to me) Rolex GMTIIc tomorrow. To get me in the mood let's get some photos posted from those of you that already have one :)
Here you go............
Congrats on the new GMTIIC - you'll love it. It's just one of those watches that can make you smile :)
Some shots of mine before I flipped it...
Nice one, i'm sure you'll really like it. It's my favourite and the only one 100% safe from sale 8)
Hope you enjoy it - modern classic imo
It's just a matter of time...
i'm really begining to like these.
i have worn mine non stop since i bought it from a forum member (apart for a few weeks back to rolex for a warranty fix)
it has kept the SD off my wrist for close to 6 months!!
A great watch! I love mine, destined to become one of the 'classic' Rolex's :)
apologies for poor pics
Here is mine
which now has unpolished centre links
And another shot - (with original polished centre links)
It's a fantastic GMT watch - just happen to be wearing the Omega PloProf - though the GMT gets wrist time when travelling

My AD offered to repolish or satin finish mine himself.
He did warn of not doing it too many times though, so I would have thought once it has been 'satin' finished (unpolished) you can probably only get it repolished (shiny) once.
Just an educated guess.
Just awesome watches. Look forward to you post
Congrats
Fantastic watch, the perfect Rolex IMHO.
I love it, and dont see myself selling it in the nearest future :P
But then again, you never know whats around the corner
Congratulations with the GMTMaster, you will NOT be disapointed
With the clasp undone, hold the clasp in one hand, Rolex sign up, and hold the piece of bracelet that connects to the top of the watch in the other. Pull the bracelet down whilst holding the clasp in place and the comfort link should do its thing.
great looking watch,great pics.
if i ever manage to get my hands on one of these i don,t think it would ever be flipped
Here's some pics - first from the side:Originally Posted by ichaice

Wow I wish I could take pictures like that........what camera was used for those shots... :thumbleft: :thumbleft:
Still love mine as much as I did when I first bought it:
It's timekeeping is unerring for an automatic.

I agree, those are super pics. The camera despite not being a DSLR is still a pretty serious piece of kit.Originally Posted by hypophyse
Although not as great as yours, my my pics viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106977&st=0&sk=t&sd=a#p1119115 were done with my almost 6 years old Nikon Coolpix 3200 http://www.cameras.co.uk/details/nikon-coolpix-3200.cfm, a basic point and shoot - which even back then was only about £100, so by todays standards would be c£50. IMO just shows that it is "how" that is just as important as with "what", with photography. :)
Please stop, all of you, I've had mine since new in December 2007 and I've been planning on selling it to help fund my car respray and you're not making it any easier...

I'll give you a few cans of spray paint for it :P :POriginally Posted by Foxy100
Here's a few quick pics of my new one. So far it looks good, feels good, the dial is crystal clear and has the best lume from any of the Rolex's that I've owned......and I can now tell you the time in New York :D
It's a great looking watch and impressive in so many ways, but probably the most difficult watch to photograph well.

If I brushed the centre links, do you think this would affect the resale value down the line?
It would increase it's desirability to me! (The only thing I don't like on the GMT11c is those polished links).Originally Posted by ichaice

I posted this comment a few days ago on another thread, so forgive me if you've already read this...
My AD offered to brush-finish the centre the links whenever I wanted and subsequently re-polish them if I wanted to sell the watch. His only word of caution was to not do this too often.
Just wear it every day for a few months and the links will 'brush' themselves ;)
At first I did not want the PCL's but after awhile I got used to them and actually prefer them. Congrats on a great watch as my GMTIIc is my favourite watch and I do have a SS Daytona as well!
Absolutely. I used to fanny my watch but over time it's impossible, I now wear mine everyday and would no way take out the pcls.Originally Posted by GregR
I feel that the ''unintentional'' brushing looks great and adds a bit of character to the watch
Weighting up one of these or an LV at the moment. Is the case size the same for the GMTIIc and LV?
Just picked up my new GMT C this morning - haven't got the bracelet sorted yet and the stickers are still on it. Just had a quick read of the manual and cant seem to get my head around how the second time zone works - having a blonde moment! I cant seem to be able to move the green hand on its own - is this right? I wanted to set the second zone to Australia as my brother moved there a month ago.
Listed as both being 40mm but the GMT is chunkier with wider lugs and wears larger.Originally Posted by Braider

the Rolex GMT is a 'true' GMT in that the GMT hand marks the GMT time. The 12hr hand moves independently. I suggest setting the hour hand to the same time as the GMT hand by adjusting the hour hand till syncronised, crown in 'position 2' then set the in 'position 3'. Then you can adjust the hour hand to another tz. Or more easily rotate the bezel to match the hr and read off the time on the GMT hand.Originally Posted by GIB984
