Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Oh right... as you can see it's not something we celebrate round these parts!
Lemon and sugar for me please! Oh, and a splash of Grand Marnier... :)

Jonmurgie, Pancake Day is Shrove Tuesday. The folks eating pancakes today (a feast), will, no doubt, start their Lenten observances tomorrow, Ash Wednesday, with prayers, and follow on with 40 days of ritual fasting.
Best wishes,
Bob
I can only stand to eat pancakes if they're roasted and served with roast beef, roast potatoes, vegetables and lashings of gravy.
Isn't that Yorkshire pudding?Originally Posted by Groundrush

Just cinnamon on mine, please.
Thanks for the heads up, maple syrup or lemon for me :P
"I looked with pity not untinged with scorn upon these trivial-minded passers-by"
Just a splash of honey on mine, delish.
Got to wait until tomorrow :( but it will be worth the wait - curry filled to start & a couple with lemon & sugar for desert :D

Bacon & Banana
RIAC
Smoked salmon to start, then lemon and sugar (my son had chocolate with his)
my kids went nuts, chocolate button's, sauce, banannas, smily face's, they had so much fun.
I had lemon and sugar.
:D
Sugar and Lemon for me but they'll be for breakfast
did,nt eat pancakes yesterday but if my grandma was still alive i certainly would have and orange juice would be on them :)
If it's a proper Yorkshire pancake then mine usually have stew on top but if it's one of those poncy crêpe things, then I suppose sweet stuff is allowed.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
I take it you mean what the rest of us lower mortals think of as a Yorkshire Pudding? Mrs A makes cracking yorkshires but they should not be spoken of in the same breath as crepes which, as tradition dictates, we ate yesterday with a little lemon juice and maple syrup. :DOriginally Posted by swanbourne
A proper Yorkshire pancake looks nothing like a proper Yorkshire pudding.Originally Posted by aldfort

Pictures? I know nothing of these Yorkshire pancakes.
I found this recipe which is very like Yorkshire pud:
YORKSHIRE PANCAKES
Recipe By :
Serving Size : 2 Preparation Time :0:00
Categories : Breakfast Special
Amount Measure Ingredient -- Preparation Method
-------- ------------ --------------------------------
1/2 c Flour
2 ea Eggs
1/2 c Milk
1/8 lb Butter (1/2 stick)
1 x Lemon juice
Heat oven to 450 degrees. Let eggs warm to room
temperature. Beat slightly. Add flour and milk to
eggs, mix thoroughly. Melt butter in long, over-proof
baking dish. Pour batter. Bake 15 minutes until
pancake rises. Serve sprinkled with lemon juice and
powdered sugar.
Is this the thing?
Pancakes and puddings are made out of the same batter mix in Yorkshire; one is flat and round and the other is light and high  .

Nothing on mine (sniff) and no pancakes, either (double sniff) as I'm officially on a diet..
OK - so the next time my Yorkshire pud fails to rise I'll just tell everybody it's a Yorkshire pancake right!!! :DOriginally Posted by swanbourne
This is how we make Yorkshire pudding in Yorkshire.
or if you want to put sausages in it and have toad in the hole
and sometimes we just put sage and thyme in the batter mix and make a seasoned pudding.
