    A Bulova question

A friend of mine asked me if I could get this running.

It was filthy with years worth of DNA but a fresh battery and its running nicely

My question is, what is the pusher next to the crown for? I initially thought it was for the date advance but that operates via the crown in the usual fashion

The case back is marked N9 which I believe is for 1979.
    Cheers,

    Ben

Ben, could it be a button that moves the seconds hand forward so the watch can be re-set every couple of months without pulling out the crown?

    Just a guess

    LOL

Ref the button (corrector button)- what happens when you push it? If nothing it could be that this case was used for a Moon phase or something which required the extra button, but on your watch its not required.

MY GP EVO3 has one, but according to the book (just read it :D ) its to adjust the moom phase - except mine does not have moon phase (thankfully).

    Hope this helps.

ISTR watches where the button advances the day wheel. Try it and see what happens...

Guess is that it either - when held in - stops - or repeadingly pushed - forwards the second hand??

Always got a sense of hunour me Mike :D

    Heres what it does.

1 push on the watch stops for about 5 seconds, push it again and the watch runs at twice speed untill you oush it again when it returns to normal speed.
