hello and welcome to the forum marcus
Hi
My name is Marcus and I am a spendaholic
Current passions include a small collction of classic cars
Various Japanese tin toys from the 1950s and 60s
and what brought me here a V series Sea Dweller bought last year with the assistance of Jason (964RS) from a member on this board.
Current fixations include getting my number count up to 25 though I tend to be more of a lurker on other boards that I am a member of.
Also own a 1977 Baume and Mercier plain black face dress watch.
Marcus

Hi 8)
Don't worry about rushing to 25.
Love the look of the DS convetible - must have handled like a complete barge though.

Wanted - Damasko DC57
Actually the DS was a great handling car, no Porsche but you would be very surprised.
All DSs have the capacity to surprise.
On the way back from Goodwood revival last year my pal in a Jag E type 4.2 had a job to keep up wih the 58 DS as I dont need to slow down for speed bumps and roundabouts like he did
Welcome!
Great cars.
Love the DS :)
Welcome to the forum Marcus
Welcome to the forum.
Bonjour. You will be poor very soon...but you will have a lot of lovely watches.... :)
A very warm welcome to you. Love the DS convertible, one of my all time favourites :)
I race Audi A4 Estates - downhill and over very bad roads though...
Mainly an Omega fan but It all started off with Russians...
Xantiagib, a fellow Citroen fan I see
Welcome Marcus! Now that you have introduce yourself, i hope you'll be partaking more. :-)
A great way to start is by posting some pics of your V Series SD.;-)
Best regards
Mac
current ID is from '67
been looking for a typical '67 watch to match but not had much luck ...
Welcome Marcus... I like you alreadyOriginally Posted by decapman

I was a member of PCA (Porsche Club of America)... you part of any car clubs... I would assume so with all those beauties... and what kind of watches you like?
Make yourself at home, answer a few Qs and you're on the sales corner... :!:

Hi Chrono
Those 912s are great, the lack of weight in the rear makes them better handling than a swb 911.
A very under rated car.
I think poop brown is coming into fashion again, my friend has a bautiful E type from 1970 in poop brown with a glorious tan interior, original paint a great combo.
I hang about on the DDK forum for early Porsches in the UK.
I am Chairman of the Citroen DS Section in the UK
I do like my cars and I am starting to like watches now, but really I like anything vintage
Welcome to the forum. I very much like that Décapotable.
In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.
911 and DS - simply two of the greatest cars ever made, period. You have sensational taste. And a decapotable too - it doesn't get any better.
If your taste in watches is as good you will soon own only vintage Omegas and Seikos.
Here's what the French philosopher Roland Barthes had to say about the DS in 1957:
"I think that cars today are almost the exact equivalent of the great Gothic cathedrals: I mean the supreme creation of an era, conceived with passion by unknown artists, and consumed in image if not in usage by a whole population which appropriates them as a purely magical object. It is obvious that the new Citroen has fallen from the sky inasmuch as it appears at first sight as a superlative object. We must not forget that an object is the best messenger of a world above that of nature: one can easily see in an object at once a perfection and an absence of origin, a closure and a brilliance, a transformation of life into matter (matter is much more magical than life), and in a word a silence which belongs to the realm of fairy-tales. The D.S. - the "Goddess" - has all the features (or at least the public is unanimous in attributing them to it at first sight) of one of those objects from another universe which have supplied fuel for the neomania of the eighteenth century and that of our own science-fiction: the Deesse is first and foremost a new Nautilus."
Makes Clarkson look like the retard he is, right?

Marcus welcome from another newbie :D
The Abarth Zagato looks very interesting do you have more info and know much of its history?
Cheers Mark
Hi and welcome to the forum!
Mark
Welcome, great cars
Great welcome guys and thanks for the car compliments.
Sadly I no longer own the decapotable.
Mark
The Abarth Zagato is quite a rareity and I do know its entire history.
I will PM you
After all this is a watch forum, I dont want to get into trouble talking cars here!
So keeping on topic I love cars with original patina, the Bus I have and the DS are both OG paint.
What I really hanker after is a 5513 from the 1960s with an original dial and vanilla aged hands and marking.
Thats a while away yet as I have some resto costs to meet first.
Welcome aboard Marcus, some nice toys you have/had :D
Hi, from another Newbie
Oz
Wow, lovely cars! I wonder if there's ever been a TZ classic car/watch meet?
