in his speech yesterday Mr Darling talking about tax said:
"I am determined to continue our successful drive to prevent avoidance and evasion".
Well excuse me since when has tax avoidance been anything other than legitimate.
Tax evasion is illegal and should be stamped out, tax avoidance is putting your money in an ISA, investing in a pension etc, all totally legitimate.
This newspeak is a deliberate attempt to change thinking and its not the first time.
We have an absolute right in this country to reduce our tax bills wherever possible using legitimate means.

However, I am quite sure that none of our illustrious MPs would utilise any form of tax avoidance, (or god forbid, evasion) in much the same way that they have steadfastly refused to take advantage of a hopelessly lax, self serving expenses regime! :mrgreen: :mrgreen:
