Watch discount - 'I have a cunning plan'...

    bear with me...

Tesco points convert to Goldsmith vouchers, £10 of vouchers = a £40 gift voucher at goldsmiths.

My wife wants to get me a watch for my birthday, and I have my eye on another Omega (amongst others!), and I also have several thousand Tesco points that I accumulated thinking I needed some BA miles, but I don't - SO - I could assist my wife in acquiring me a birthday watch for a significant discount to me? Anyone tried handing over a £2K goldsmiths voucher??

Now wishing to be rude but do try a search as a few people have used vouchers for purchases, some using them to buy other items to sell on and extract the x4 cash value of the club card points and others buying watches to keep.

To answer your question directly, there are some terms and conditions on using the vouchers but there is nothing saying you can't hand over £2k in vouchers.

    Details here: http://www.tesco.com/clubcard/deals/product.aspx?R=181

    D'oh...

You're right, I see. Just when you think you've had a great idea, you realise several thousand people have got there well before you.

Still not a bad deal though, if they have what you want.... Sorry again.

No need to apologise... it's a great offer really and gets rid of any depreciation in buying a modern watch 'new'

So what do you have your eye on?

A colleague at work paid for around half of an Omega with vouchers, so it can certainly work for you.

Omega DeVille Prestige like this one...

Rather a departure from my usual diver/GMT obsession but I thought that it might be good to have a bit more variety...

Not really cunning. At least not "as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University?".

I had forgotten about the Tesco/Goldsmiths thing... what did you do in the end?
