I like that top one, Petrus. With Roman numerals, it would have been mmmmmmmmm....
I only have this one:
'Regret' is a bit silly as it is no use to cry over spilled milk.
It is only applicable to decisions you at the time knéw were an error but took anyway.
One of those is my decision to sell my Zlatoust pocket watch.
This is pinched rom the web as an illustration:
I míss it. Probably mostly because I don't have a pocket watch anymore and sometimes wear a wristwatch loose in my pocket.
The Zlatoust will be replaced albeit not by another Zlatoust: the russian home industry has become too good at fitting period military systems movements under home printed dials into period cases.
Also I would like a bit more contemporary design.
Maybe something a bit bauhaus:
What pocket watch do yóu have?
Do you have a matching box? and/or presentation stand?

i have this little mjolnir, which i have in my pocket sometimes, i really just like it because of its tick.
It is very small, Mike  :laughing6: :laughing6: :laughing6:Originally Posted by seadog1408
Better stay away from the russian offer though unless your réaly know what you are about to buy. The mayor western brands have lots of alternatives:Originally Posted by WatchScout
Now, that is nice.
Wonder whether or not it is only the dial, that is cracked though.
Two silver pocket watches of mine....
First a full hunter Longines
Secondly a half hunter Omega...
Cheers,
Neil.
A nice Waltham
And a Rotary for Friday meetings 8)
Véry neat and véry typical of the two main players of that sector at that time.Originally Posted by Neil.C
They offer amazing value for money when compaired to wristwatches.
It is simply incomparable what you can buy for the price of the umpteenth 'limited' edition wristwatch.
Thank you for showing those two Neil :!:
I have two.
A Silver Half Hunter 1910
This Elgin is from 1894
I already posted some pictures of the one that recently came into my posession a few days ago.
Full hunter made by Aeby&Landry round about 1890. The movement is nothing special, but the Niello case is imho quite nice.
  some beauties here.
The Niello indeed is árt :!:
Mouthwatering picture quality too btw :!:
The stand you have the Elgin on is a good example btw Russ. With pocket watches it does not need to stop with just the watch; there is the chain, the box and the stand.
All can be as varied and artfull as you wish. Biedermeier to Jugendstil, barock to neo classical, Bauhaus to sixties. Even Victorian hunting to Austrian trachten if you like that.
I was looking for a stand and found a statue of Ambiorix holding the pocket watch. I have inmediately sent the number to the Belgium guy who has the Zlatoust now
very nice watches....especially the Longines'
