Congrats!
A bit to shiny to my taste, but lovely movements in those JLC's.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Better than the usual delivery of junk and bills, I suppose:

What a beauty!! I've never had a yearning for one of these, but I can appreciate the attraction.
Now, and early pilots chronograph from the fifties would be something I could go for :D
Congrats! Join the club. I have mine on the rubber in the summer and it has been worn daily for the last 6 months!
What a beauty, congrats 8)

Stunning! Nice purchase :)
It's 42mm without according to the web. Wears about that size, but short lugs so doesn't wear that big - suits me better than the 39mm Smiths, for instance.Originally Posted by peter2704
I want to get this on rubber - the strap is fine but it's too dressy for me as a combo. I have a hunch that the JLC rubber won't fit my wrist with it being so closely fitted to the case, so I've ordered a few different generic ones to try.I have mine on the rubber in the summer and it has been worn daily for the last 6 months!

Secondly for £80 or so the watch guys will do you and OEM lookalike alligator strap that is oh so comfortable, you can choose your size and colour too!Originally Posted by Seabadger
Right, it looked fitted on the photos I'd seen, but having had another look it appears not to be.Firstly its not fitted and is fine on my 6.75" wrist, I wear it on the 3rd or 4th hole. Do you have a link for the alligator straps by any chance? I still think rubber is the way to go, but no harm in looking.
You git. I'm drooling over these lately. You may have seen my post about trying on a few other day.
Anyhow, you're not a git, just bloody lucky. Enjoy mate!

I know it gives that impression. I just sent Kurt at thewatchboys an email (thewatchboys@gmail.com) with my requirements and he made the strap up for me within a few weeks. The dark brown OEM Alligator suits the watch perfectly IMO. The rubber is great for the working week, but when I smarten up at the weekend the rubber is a little incongruous with a suit. Try and buy the rubber used as they are £215+ new last time I checked.Originally Posted by Seabadger

Thanks - I might drop them a line.
Owners - I've just adjusted the watch for the start of the month, and I've noticed that the date clips over nicely dead on the hour of... 5am. I take it that isn't a design feature?
No, mine changes bang on at midnight. It looks like someone has adjusted the date prevously between 10pm and 3am which causes this. Its not as bad as the IWC I had that changed at 7pm though....Originally Posted by Seabadger
JLC will sort this for you but likely at the cost of a maintenance service which is about £90 for this watch.
That's much more reasonable that I thought. The watch did come with some guarantee remaining from the previous owner so I may give the original shop that sold it a bell, but for £90 or that sort of region I could be tempted to just let JLC do it than run the risk of it being messed up by a 3rd party.JLC will sort this for you but likely at the cost of a maintenance service which is about £90 for this watch.
Thats what I would do, at least then you are guaranteed the 100m WR if you will be bathing or swimming with it on the rubber.Originally Posted by Seabadger
