Alpha 8C. I know an Alpha will end up breaking your heart, but I'd take a chance. Stunning.
This one, game over :D

Stradale is nice, Maser is nice, GTO is nice, but the Abarth 204A blows them all away.
Also close runners - Porsches 356, 550, 928, Lotuses Elite and Eleven, and I do love the Alfa SZ, and the Lancia 037, but they are more functional than truly beautiful.
My dream car is a series 3 E-Type a real stunner. But my vote goes to the Daytona California.
Iconic, pulls petrolhead strings that no other car has yet to match......... for those aged under 40 maybe.Originally Posted by DeusIrae
For those of us with a few more years under their belt, I can think of 2 cars that are far more deserving of that accolade, one has already been mentioned (the original Ford GT40), the other being the 427 Cobra, it isn't classically beautiful, hence why no one has mentioned it yet, but as icons go, they don't come any better.
A person might be forgiven for thinking you were actually serious there. Good one. :DOriginally Posted by catflem
Interesting choice - the series 3 is usually thought of as being the least desirable. Anyway, on a Jaguar theme, the XJ13 is a beautiful car:My dream car is a series 3 E-Type a real stunner.

It doesn't even make the top 20 in this list, which is rather odd as it is such an "Icon" ......... but you can guess what is at number 2.

I'm partial to this simple design:
Brane
My favourite car of all time.
1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Fastback
Two things about this, the thread we're in concerns the "most beautiful" and not the best, and this list is a load of rubbish, the RS4 is a saloon and the Zonda, arguably a supercar, it's quite random. On the other hand, while I like the design of the Countach (and really like the AC Ace), I'm not sure I'd argue that it's more beautiful than the 427 Cobra or vice-versa.Originally Posted by catflem

You lot should have gone to Specsavers. This is the most beautiful sports car ever...
Chris.
AC Cobra Beautiful IMHO..... more bling than pat butchers earings!
Impossible to say really, it's like asking what's your favourite watch or album, it just depends on your mood.
Having said all that this stunning Zagato Alfa is very high up the list.

Jaguar XKSS.
Lots of truly beautiful cars suggested (and some IMHO, that don't fit the description..), but I think the original 50's Testarossa deserves a place!
The Karmann Ghia is a classic beauty too...
This example is from 1972.

IMHO, these two:
The one on the left is nice but the other one reminds me of this...Originally Posted by frogspawn

Perhaps not the most beautiful ( that would probably be a s1 E-type roadster/246GT/DB9 etc) but a Lancia 037 is quite striking
Surely the SL300 Gullwing?
I feel bad for leaving this one out. :)
It's nae quiet though...

Tough one, but along with the Ulenhaut 300SLR and Jaguar XJ13 above, runner up would go to the Ferrari 250 GT SWB, but the winner...
DB4 GT Zagato
Interesting theme here though - seems that the late '50s and early '60s were they heyday of sports car design. Modern Ferraris are nowhere near the 250s and 330s of the 1960s IMO ... :blackeye:
Alfa Tipo 33 is pretty staggering but I can't help feeling that the 8C Competizione is by far the most beautiful car I have had the pleasure of seeing. That car is just something else. I think I even like the spyder version too.
DB4? :shock:Originally Posted by dentaku

This is all to difficult, however of the new cars currently for sale it has to be the RUF CTR 3, followed by the Fezza Californian, followed by Porsche GT2 RS.
Any one will do :D .
Of the Classics much more difficult and would depend upon budget available. However for less that £50K
Porsche 356 Speeder
E-Type (Mk1-2)
Austin Healey 3000
or failing these my narrow bodied 964 - still maddy in love after 8 years of living in sin :D

I thought there'd be more form-follows-function tool type sportscars posted - what about this little gem?
Some stunners already here, one of my favourites the only one, and gone, Jota
the new ferrari f450 is a beauty, the f430 is lovely also, a guy round the corner from me got a f430 last week, makes my drive to work every so much sweeter having a good drool over it as i drive past.
Sorry maybe I was a bit hungover still yesterday...Originally Posted by SternG
Yes it is Steve Mcqueen & Yes it is a XK SS, though it is related to the D type which is also very beautiful. :)
