Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!

I think that is pretty cool personally :)
I think that's one I'd need to see in the metal. I love the idea and look of the display but the case and bracelet aren't doing it for me in those photos.
Thanks John, it certainly looks cool.
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
'Colour' would be the next big step to this technology.Originally Posted by Jonmurgie

That looks absolutely interesting.
Could this lead to the ipad on the wrist?
For now though they just released another digital solar radio controlled:
And for Petrus in trendy Gold PVD:
no matter what they do, i just can't do digi! :(

marchingontogether!
I completely fail to see the attraction. It's more of a gadget than a timepiece :|

intresting, thanks John 8)
I like it a lot and there's nowt wrong with a bit of digital. Would prefer a silver coloured version though.
Often wear my dad's old Seiko digital from 1979 :)
Having watched the Youtube clip however I want the gorgeous Grand Seiko Anniversary :love4: .
Bob (rfrazier) is our resident e-ink evangelist and sure to buy one. Can't wait to read his verdict.Originally Posted by abraxas
Thats an amazing watch
I think it's pretty cool, but the rumour is it will be north of a grand, ouch!
E-ink can be combined with analogue too.
Seiko is looking for additional funcionality, for a market for a new product using the active matrix.
The claimed 100 times lower power use of the display seen in the light of thet tft sceen using most of a quartz watch battery consumption means extréme longlived batteries.
Very interesting technology.
Thumbs down from me. These will cost about 20 quid in 10 years time.
And what sort of criterium is thát?Originally Posted by Plake
The future price bracket makes a watch thumbs up/down for you?
Then buy one in 18k
Those will be réal value for money in 10 years time :albino:
The reason that they will cost £20 in 10 years time is that they already look cheap and tacky now. That's the criterion really.Originally Posted by Huertecilla
Obviously cheaper technology and parts will be the actual reason. But you get my drift. Or not, possibly?
I like it.
If that upsets anyone then obviously I would be prepared to chip in* towards their courses of therapy.

Well i like it, and i'll be buying one at the earliest opportunity.
Why?..........Just for the hell of it.
After all, isn't that the best reason? 8)
I like it,i'm sure various other styles will be available as previously shown with analogue features to add to the package,i will be very interested in the rrp when available.
Have I said that it looks like a cheap gadget that will go out of fashion a few months after the official launch? Well, it does. As for the fact that ole 'Zilla likes it, am I surprised?
Not really :D

Such is life though, half the stuff in our homes are gadgets that will go out of fashion in a few months.
If like me, you like gadgets, then that facts not going to stop you 8)
At the end of the day it's just another watch in this never ending cycle of buy, try, flip.
LED. It's the future. I've seen it.
I'll tell you now in advance, when the day comes that they make a watch where a Princess Leia hologram pops up and tells me the time,
I'll be buying it regardless of where it was made or how much a fad it is 8)
I'm gonna get this one
The tech I'm waiting for is one that allows the watch to tell me the time I'd like it to be, not the time it really is. So kettles would boil instantly; I'd never be late and Christmases wouldn't come round so quickly any more. ;)

Anyway, i'm sure i've seen kettles that boil water in a couple of seconds now
Or maybe it was a dream
Kettles are so so last century. Strictly for cheque-writing "I'm a PC" types. :lol:Originally Posted by kiki-picasso

I honestly don't see what is revolutionary about this - I guess it doesn't look so impressive in a world of iPhones etc. I appreciate there may be some amazing technolgy in getting it to run on low amounts of power, but I don't know that that is going to impress the general public so much.
