Those look rather nice. I can't quite make out the movement number though.

Nice!
Such a small foam box and so much money!
2898-2 movements ???
I like the finish on them, perhaps a glass case back ?
Cheers

Hard to tell, could be 2893-2 (GMT) or 2895-2 (Sub Seconds) so it's certainly something cool and interesting :)
I have four boxes of these but what to use them for? Should it be this?

2893-2 then... GMT Dreadnought... sign me up!!
I hope they're not for the new radio dial Smiths. No date on that so it won't be for me.
I don't know, but put me down for one what ever it is.Originally Posted by swanbourne

Or maybe a GMT version of this...
I thought that was going to be a superquartz.

I agree ralphy, simply stunning.

I quite fancy one of these though.

Dreadnought over Speedbird for me!
I've been waiting years for this #135 please.Originally Posted by swanbourne

The DN GMT looks fantastic, but I fear that I wouldn't be able to manage it with my smaller wrists. That would be 44x54, right?
A SB GMT would also be great. I've pondered the SB III many times, but personally I just couldn't get past the sterile dial. The mockup is nice, but I'd prefer to leave the date as it was on the SB III (white on black @ 6:00).
I'll have #049 if it's a Dreadnought please :)
Is that one of my mock-ups Eddie? I can't even remember...
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
A Dreadnought GMT?
Yes please :D
DN GMT! Yes please Eddie :bounce:
Have been dreaming about this one since I first saw it 2007
If your going to make a GMT with an Orange hand it's got to be one of these...

How close is this to actually happening?, i'm assuming it would be 50 pieces?.
If theres a real chance to get the ball rolling, i'll start another PRS-14 type thread and get some definites together.
I know i for one would absolutely love to buy one tomorrow.
I don't care what it's sold on - AFAIC it could be sent with a piece of manky string - I want that watch!Originally Posted by chrisparker

Before I get too excited about this, do these movements have the independently adjustable (in 1 hour jumps) 12hr (main hour) hand (ala Rolex GMT II, Omega GMT, etc.) or the independently set 24 hr hand (like almost everything else)?
I've always wanted a DN, and this could be it :drunken:
No expense spared photoshop there Eddie :lol:Originally Posted by swanbourne

The 2893-2 movement has the non-Rolex style adjustment. ETA produces a Rolex style movement (as used in the Omega Seamaster GMT) but it's not available to anyone else.....Originally Posted by Watch Dilettante
Thanks, but I was fully aware of that. Perhaps I should have phrased my question more succinctly: Are these movements modified to have an independently adjustable 12H hand? I thought there was general agreement here from long ago that this was a key feature for a GMT, perhaps achievable only via quartz these days...Originally Posted by Guitarfan

The Dreadnought GMT is well overdue, I still think it should be named after a different ship or sub though. :salute:
Mr P,
IMVHO it's a no brainer; build the DN GMT, then perhaps get yourself a very sharp stick to control the assembled punters

Nice mock up but too much like Bill Yao's LRRP.Originally Posted by chrisparker

Independent 24 hour hand, or not, I'll bet fifty DN GMTs will go within an hour of open ordering, if that long.....
Why only 50 Eddie has 200 of these movements.Originally Posted by lysanderxiii

Orange is an obvious choice for the DN
Green would be my suggestion (on the SBIII), looks great on the Rolex GMT IMO
Blue is very "cool" at the moment but maybe not contrasting enough to be easily spotted if it's a small hand...
