Need a bit more info. What size does she like? Diamonds or plain? Dressy or sporty? How much do you want to spend?
Hi Guys,
I'm looking for a watch for the wife and like the look of the 38mm White Chanel J12 or the Jaeger Reverso Duetto classique. Perhaps even a pink dialed Cartier Santos 100 with synthetic strap.
Any suggestions?
Eugene

Yes, depends on what sort of wife you have. Mine probably wouldn't speak to me if if I gave her a white Chanel, but she likes wearing my vintage Oyster Precision and Coke 16710, both of which suit her well.Originally Posted by cfk-ob

another idea maybe Cartier tank francaise ...
If you've got it, flaunt it!!
What about a midsize Rolex datejust in stainless steel with a pink dial? They do a version without Roman numerals, and a version in steel and rose gold - very nice!

If there's one thing I've learned it's don't try and guess what she'd like...ask her. Oh and she probably won't be best pleased with a pre-owned watch!
A 40mm chunky diver watch on bracelet seems to be the best choice at the moment....
I bought my wife a Longines Hydro Conquest L3.247.4.16.6 cost £550 from a local jeweller in Doncaster.
She loves it because it's got that sporty look.
Speedbird III cream dial on a bright red crocodile strap
If I was your wife I'd want an MM300. None of this poncy "twee" stuff... :D
You'd better ask her.
Now that's funny.Originally Posted by Tai Mi Shu

My wife, though, loves surprises and wouldn't even want to know she'd be getting a watch.
A DJ is always a killer if you're up to that budget.

Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!
Probably the finest in lady-wear. The absolutely new PP ladies chrono. Check out the (lower) position of the sub-counters.

Gents Deville on a bracelet for my wife...looks really good.
Sure is beautiful....Originally Posted by abraxas

The ladies Platinum Rolex YM is v nice indeed for something that is not a "cocktail" size, but not as hefty as a full man's Rolex.
My GF loved my SD and would wear a Sub too i reckon.
She currently wears a Tag Heur F1 black face with diamond bezel - recently bought her the new white ceramic Tag Heur F1 - she loves it (and just under £800 new without any discount/haggle)
She doesn't like the idea of 2nd hand watches for herself, but sees the sense for me.... of course.
Alsl looked at SS Cartier Santos - can be had easily for £1250 or around that figure.
I noticed Doug(?) posted a picture of me and my PMBP. Bang on! :D
As above I think it's really got to depend on the style sense of the particular woman at the end of the day. Some women suit 'jewellery' watches, some suit big, no-nonsense tool watches.
The most striking ladies piece (as a cross over between horology and jewellery) that I have seen in recent years is the Cartier Ballon Bleu.
They're 3 very different styles of watches, think you better ask her what she would like as getting it wrong could turn out to be very expensive!!Originally Posted by EugeneT
I sit firmly in the classic, no bling camp so a Cartier Tank would be right up my street. But depending on the day can also be in the sporty diver style camp so Omega Seamaster Pro could also fit the bill.
Thanks for the suggestions guys!
She actually doesn't want another watch. Its what I'd like to see her wearing and those were really my choices ( she said they all looked 'ok')! She wouldn't suit any of the larger sized men's divers as her wrist is small.
Has anyone seen the new Perrelet Diamond Flower with the dual rotor?
Looks pretty cool!

Eugene
If I had the money fro such a gift it would probably be the Autumn leaf from the GO Four Seasons collection:

My girlfriend thinks it's my Daytona
The Glashutte Winter Dream is stunning!!
Cartier Tank Francaise.
So clever my foot fell off.
My wife loves her PRS3 [Broadarrow quartz] on Omega mesh - the bezel is used to time the piano lessons she teaches.Originally Posted by PIERS (UK)
I'd love her to have a JLC Reverso but she wouldn't let me spend the money. As an earlier poster said - don't guess, ask her.
I bought this for her indoors when our son was born (she chose it):
A couple of things to note:
It's three years old and I was having a look at it the other day, and it's battered beyond belief! My SMP that I wore 24/7 for 5 years is pristine in comparison!
Secondly she complains about having to reset it when she wears it, I should have saved the £200 and bought the quartz  :D
best advice in the topic. you know girls ;)Originally Posted by simonrah
After spending into the thousands on a diamond encrusted Christian Dior(now on SC) I've ended up buying her one for less than a 10th of the price(from SC).
I checked with her first this time
i think a sub looks great on a womens wrist 8)
I bought my wife a Rado Jubile with diamonds and MOP face for her 30th - even though it's a quartz, she seems to love it and it suits her tiny wrists (a sub would look ridiculous on her).
Steel Daytona or Explorer
It's just a matter of time...
Funny how alot of the sggestions are mens watches. Bume & mercier,Ebel & Bvlgari makse some stunning ladies watches.
I have only ever seen good looking women wear Panerai...................

Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
I think a Cartier always goes down well!
I got loads of Brownie Points for getting one of these fro SWMBO's Birthday a couple of years back (Thanks Eddie :D )
Sadly no longer available.
My girl wears this 36 mm quartz (no auto as she says why set time and date every time its been laying for 2 days, beats me:)) on her tiny wrist, quite stunning on her. And yes she pointed it out at the local watch dealer months before I decided to get it for her some years back
my missus has two 'good' watches, both quartz
Cartier Tank - 18ct gold on brown leather and a must de cartier 21 s/s on a bracelet
loves them both, one is a classic the other more modern,
i think cartier are lovely on the ladies!
Yeah the best looking woman's watch is the one with the best looking woman attached to it. So long as it ain't some blingy fashion POS. :wink:Originally Posted by Gunscrossed
Is that your missus? Noice (provided she actually has both eyes )Originally Posted by farmkid
My wife wears a Ebel Brasila she bought for herself when she sold her business.
I bought her a watch in Greenwich Village NYC a few years ago which I like to see her wear, but its the Ebel that gets the wrist time.
