I have had a SuperOcean for just over a year now and have worn it more than any other watch in that time. My impressions are that the quality is excellent - I think their cases are amongst the best in the industry. The accuracy is also spot on with mine at about +2 seconds per day.

I think they are a great watch - dependent on model of course - of the brands mentioned in the same light and sticking to divers, as I generally only wear them (with few exceptions) I rate them, for the 2nd tier of prestige watches:
1 Rolex
2 Breitling
3 Omega
In saying that I have all the Omega dive watches I want bar 1 or two and far too many Rolex - but there are a few Breitling I wouldn't mind adding in the near future and if I can sort things out a little I'll be buying a couple of the new Super Oceans - started off wanting to buy a suitable present and now I like them that much I think I'll get myself one at the same time. Just means I will have to say good bye to something else to achieve it.
It's just a matter of time...
Great thread.
To lead on from the thread.
With so many breitling owners on the forum.
Of the breitling models that you have had or still have which has been your favourite.
My personal favourite which I still have is the brushed blackbird new model.
Sorry if this has been done before.
Colin
I've got no problem with Breitling, they ensure the dealers are well trained (generally) and offer good back up. Any dealer offering any greater discount than 20% is overstepping the mark, unless they know you well and then that's a goodwill gesture. My personal favourite is the black faced and leather strapped Navitimer, I now some think it's a bit OTT, but to me it's what a watch is about - history, craftmanship, function and design.
My next watch is very likely going to be a Chronomat Evo. Still a bit concerned about the polished bracelet for every day wearing... But what's the worst that can happen?!?!
Breitling , love em. I like the aviation history...Navitimer.....
Can't see a list of "tossers" without adding myself to it... :DOriginally Posted by MuRph77
Great tool watches....not too sure about the blingy ones though... :?
Especially the "Breitling for Benders" range...
You can take it off, and polish it with a Cape Cod cloth. Significantly easier than trying to re-finish a brushed finish, or worse, a bead-blasted finish.Originally Posted by DDtB

There are a lot, aren't there. More than you'd think, given the comments (let's not pretend those comments would ever get uttered if this forum was held down the pub instead of online, mind. Ooooh, the scope for misunderstanding...).Originally Posted by cgs
Personally I liked the Colt GMT. Smaller than the usual modern Breitling, and extremely readable thanks to strong lume and reflective markers which are great at making use of all the available light in dim conditions. Breitling's AR coating shows everyone else how to do it. I didn't wear fishing jumpers a lot, unlike everyone else who doesn't wear a Breitling it seems, so I never had any problems with the rider tabs. Had one, jost my job, sold it.

Another big fan here, had plenty of different models over the years and I'm currently in my Navitimer mood with a couple of vintage 40+ year old models and a couple of modern ones.
Had a couple of time keeping issues over the years but each time I've dealt with BUK direct and they've been brilliant. They've always been returned keeping better time than when they left the factory!
I've had a couple of watches serviced by them now and currently have my vintage Chrono-matic with them for a full overhaul. I personally wouldn't send my Breitlings anywhere else except BUK for a service, they're worth every penny you spend, unlike some so called specialists I could mention!
I had an experience with Omega once, a Seamaster, the dial blistered and I've never been back to the brand since.

A Navitimer is on my 'Must get one day' list - it's funny, I didn't use to like Breitlings, and though them a bit too 'blingy' but when I tried a Navitimer on I loved it. I'd probably go for one on a strap rather than the bracelet though.
I have a soft spot for a Seawolf and steelfish they look just enough bling for me to cope with and the build quality seems to be on par with others in that range
I'm trying to decide on an Aerospace or one of the older offerings like a Pluton or Intruder.
I'd get the Aerospace - not the latest model where it is 'super-sized' and less Luminova - but with SQ movement - IMHOOriginally Posted by Grandiloquence

I have an Aerospace with the Superquartz movement (pre-42mm) and it's the most accurate watch I've ever owned, plus it has a zillion features too. I completely adore it and it'll be a long term keeper with no doubt. I also had a Navitimer some years back which was sensational. Not used an AD at all so no experience there, but as with all ADs there'll always be good and bad.
I own two Breitlings a Chrono Avenger Titainium and a Super Avenger Black steel , dont think i could ever part with the Chrono Titainium absolute classic have it on a pro 1 bracelet and a black leather to change its looks sometimes. But next watch will have to be a nice shiny one!!
Excellent watches, had 3 so far, M1, skyland Avenger and a recently purchased Navitimer - superb. Each to his own but don't understand the knockers
Titanium M1 is in my opinion the ultimate tool watch.
Had many, now have an Emergency and a navitimer 50 year Anniversary, two of the best IMO..
My Breitling AD experience was good. They restored my 2006 Fish into "as new" condition. Pricey, yes... but having a pristine blue Fish is priceless. My favorite 'Ling hands down.
Always behind the times though eh Chartman :lol:Originally Posted by Chartman69
And I eventually did buy a new one just before Christmas. Got an excellent discount - black dial on bracelet. May not be an 'investment' but it's a seriously nice watch for the money 8)Originally Posted by redmond
From the day i got my Ti Seawolf Black Dial, for my 40th birthday it became my favourite watch - Tough, reliable and a wearer for any occasion - strangely it is the only model i ever liked from Breitling,i checked out an AD window the other day for the first time in ages and can now understand why they are known as "BreitBling"!
I wore it daily for five years,it resisted scratches very well, any marks or scratches on the Ti were taken care of easily with a Bergeon brush.
Timekeeping from the COSC B17(Modified ETA) has always been spot on.
However in a moment of madness i sold it,missed it,and VERY Luckily bought it back.Never again!
Experience with BUK service was poor, they cocked up a service on the watch and took 3 months to fix it, but were good enough to admit it and offer the service FOC.
You wont go far wrong with a good Breitling !
I had a grey dial Ti Seawolf which travelled round the world with me in 2006, and did lots of diving on the Great Barrier reef. It was almost the perfect watch IMO (better lume would have made it perfect), it was the only Breitling I've liked. And being totally honest, I preferred it to all the watches that came after it. I wish I'd known it was the perfect watch for me before I parted with it!Originally Posted by bparker170
I really wish I hadn't flipped it, and I have no idea where it is now. Though even if I located it again, I wouldn't buy it back as it wouldn't be 'mine' any more. But for me the Ti Avenger Seawolf remains the only Breitling I'd ever buy (except maybe the Ti Chrono Avenger M1 - but I'm not so keen on chrono's).
I wouldn't wear anything from the current lineup, even if I was given it free.
I have never had a bad Breitling if that's any help, Aerospace + Co-Pilot, B1(x2), Chronomat Longitude, Super Ocean, Super Ocean Steelfish, Navitimer Cosmonaut, Navitimer 50th Anniversary, Chrono Avenger and Chrono Avenger M1.Originally Posted by kandyman
Some have been a bit blingy for my taste but very fine watches nevertheless.
Buying pre-owned from a trusted forum member is good, there are also a few good pre-owned internet dealers around
i know exactly what you mean friend,i always find the seawolf has great presence but is classy and understated at the same time,i put an Isofrane on mine just recently and it looks great.I'll send the watch to BUK for an overhaul later this year.
You do occasionally get a nice ti seawolf on the forums and dare i say it,i've seen some crackers on the bay.I think it will become a classic in years to come,

I have had a pre-Avantage Aersopace and a B1, liked both very much. REALLY wish I'd kept one of them now [ideally the B1] but hey, ho, live and learn
They make me wet.
Had my B2 nine years and worn it virtually every day and it has been perfect without fault.
I had one hell of a bash last year and went back for repair and service.
£280 later it returned gleaming like new and the strap and case had been seriously polished.
Nothing bad to add at all.

Always had good experiences with Breitling and I've had a few. No reliability problems. I have a CWSLE and B-1 now. The B-1 has a review in the 'Review' section. I keep the CWSLE as it's a lovely looking watch and only 1000 made of the model I have actually makes it a 'LE'Originally Posted by kandyman
