Yep indeed, but I can't recall my user ID. Doesn't stop me surfing daily for things I really shouldn't be looking at, temptation tends to lead to purchases there

    No not me

However since joining here I do frequent the site regularly. Bit of a bollocks for me in N.Ireland though, seeing all those lovely things.

Pistonheads is how I found out about this place, and I have the same username on there as on here. Gotta be careful on PH though, too many times have I burst out laughing in front of a class over one of the dead pan replies (I'm an IT trainer)...

Yes but the quality of the site varies drastically from forum to forum and I often feel there are too many Max-Power arm chair expert, 16-year olds on the site, who rubbish anything that isn't their favoured manufacturer/car.

Like the others, the classifieds are my favourite part.

THE place for car nuts. Even now it's commercially owned, it remains mostly a great site.

    Re: Piston heads

Yup another one who found TZ-UK from Pistonheads Watch section. I don't post that much over there but have done in the past. I also frequent Singletrackworld (mountain biking), and used to be resident at YakYak (Llamasoft and related community). I tend to float back and forth with forums.

Although at the moment she looks like this:

    :D

She's in need of a fair bit of TLC; hadn't turned a wheel in the two years prior to me getting her.

Chassis-wise I'm going for a complete body-off strip down: new out-riggers and the rest blasted then re-finished plus new springs and shocks all round. Engine's now had a full service (50k), gearbox is fine (T5) and a new aluminium radiator fitted. Interior is going to be completely re-furbished: I'm doing the leather-work myself & having new carpets made up and I've re-furbed the hood to a fair standard.

It's a real love/hate relationship for me with TVR's: I swear nothing is symmetical on them, things rarely fit as they should, some of the standard of construction is truly appalling...... yet there's something about them that just makes me smile when I'm driving one!!! :D Totally absorbing to drive, you really need to concentrate when making progress and you under-estimate them in the wet at your peril, but equally they can be a very relaxing ride due to the massive torque of that V8.

Once she's complete I'm going to take her for track days and have a bit of fun, plus frequent local use - one thing I've come to realise about these is they don't like being left standing for too long. This one will not be a "sunny Sunday-only" drive.

I bet that's the first TVR thats been through Fowey, all I remember was very narrow lanes 'orrible for deliveries. :(

Will you be taking her to Castle Combe Ralphy?

Fab car, Ralphy, congratulations and best of luck with the restoration.

The first TVR I ever drove was a Chimaera; I'll never forget the noise and my sphincter-flapping moment when I accelerated slightly too enthusiastically away from a (bone dry!) roundabout!

Same here. I've been a member for years but do more lurking than posting. Like others, it was the PH watch forum that told me about this place.

A man who likes a challenge. Hats off.

My old next door neighbour had a few TVRs. Great cars that he used on the daily 70 mile commute! Absolutely amazing cars when they're on form. Enjoy!

Still love the Classifieds though! :)

    Re: Piston heads

Yes, I'm a long time PH lurker but have yet to post. It's got to be one of the best UK car sites for buying and selling and there's quite a bit of expert forum knowledge in some areas. There's also quite a bit of twaddle in equal measure but that's what makes it a interesting mix.
