    i quite like doxa particularly the cushion shaped cases
    but there is no way i would buy from a company that behaves in such a manner.
    the arrogance is unbeliveable

    Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".

    What a load of bollocks. I know many Chinese, and their English is excellent.

    Their after sales was something that made quite a few customers weep.
    I remember some people posting here (when we had the unofficial Doxa forum over here) about crowns that came loose, Doxa charging them for repairs (even with nearly new watches!!) etc.

    Then their fcuk ups like the chrono with the wrong printing, so that you could see a 4 minute scale instead of a 5 minute scale.

    Stealth lume (other brands would say: defective lume).... another great DOXA find!

    Really, please let them go bankrupt, they don't deserve making a profit...

    BTW: look at their wikipedia comments:
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Doxa_S.A.

    I saw their wikipedia-text before and it was bloating about how great Doxa was etc... Clearly made by an employee or some Doxa-fanboy...

    Ah well, I was coming from a position of knowing bugger all you see.... I assumed they were a company that made good watches but had zero talent at PR. I stand corrected.

    I've said it before and I'll say it again. Doxa is the village idiot of the watch industry. But I hope they never change. They're a source of constant hilarity to the WIS community.

    In my previous post I forgot to mention mr. Rick Marei, the marketing manager @ Doxa.

    Let me keep things nice and friendly over here, but I think Doxa and its customers would be better of without that S.O.B.

    Its all marketing, it created more traffic to the Doxa site than the new watch itself. Rick Marei, aka John Pfeiffer, aka....... is a man that knows how to create site traffic when the product does not. I am 100% sure this is all calculated and deliberate; after 10 years of messing up like this it has to.

    Well, let's see if it is going to create more traffic to his bank account :)
    I reckon not.

    All it's done is show me that they are a company that treats its customers and potential customers with contempt. All publicity is not good publicity; this is one turd that cannot be polished.

    1. if you accuse DOXA of manufacturing cheap watches and bracelets, and visit the forum on the release day, to mention this, then you could be one
    2. if you accuse DOXA of whatever, that is entirely out of context of the current discussion, and just visit the forum to mention this, then you could be one
    3. if you are a manufacturer or have $50 worth watches manufactured to sell them for +$500.00, and are visiting the forum to criticize DOXA products or business attitudes and ethics, then you are basically not welcome and you are definitely one
    Why does this make me think of Jeff Foxworthy?

    Maybe they should try a different type of "if," especially T-Bone.
    If by Rudyard Kipling

    If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you;
    If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
    If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or, being lied about, don't deal in lies,
    Or, being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise;

    If you can dream - and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think - and not make thoughts your aim;
    If you can meet with triumph and disaster
    And treat those two imposters just the same;
    If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
    Or watch the things you gave your life to broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with wornout tools;

    If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
    And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breath a word about your loss;
    If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
    And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on";

    If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with kings - nor lose the common touch;
    If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you;
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
    If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run -
    Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And - which is more - you'll be a Man my son!

    Freedom of speech is a double egded sword. While it gives men the freedom to say whatever is on thier mind without fear of government retribution, it also gives everyone the freedom to be butt-holes. And in this day of internet anonymity, they seem to come out in droves. Call me old fashioned, but if you don't like the way a company is run, or the products they make, then don't give them your money. It just seems a bit like an elementary school fight with two groups of children on each side of the playground calling each other names. Come on, there just watches :roll:

    What if the watch company are being the 'ass-holes' and not being anonymous in their delivery/suppression of of it by themselves or their agents?

    My personal opinion is that if parts are finished and assembled in Swtzerland then what else can it be called? Quite a few GM cars and trucks are built in Canada, and Dodge builds trucks in Mexico, we still call these American vehicles. That is entirely what I was speaking about Rhect, that image you cut and pasted is from the Walca Switzerland section of the webpage where watches are made in Bienne/Biel, Switzerland. Walca does make watches in and for the Asian market, please look on that particular link.

    That nuclear bomb is a dud :twisted:

    I think there needs to be specific proof given the link and the implications.

    Clearly you have knowledge - please share this.

    I currently see little beyond the exploitation of the rules in relation to 'swiss made' displayed in a Chinese watch manufacturers portfolio and a manufacturer (and their agents) being obtuse over the origins of it's products?

    Happy to be enlightened.

    Presumably once they've tracked you down they'll sell you a watch with an adequate depth rating for when you're sleeping with the fishes.
    Very unsavoury attitude. If I ever was considering buying one of their watches new, I'm certainly not now.

    Me too, Doxa now off the list.

    Here is the link for Walca Switzerland:
    http://www.walca.ch/index.php?m=100&c=100

    Watch the slide show and see.

    Then do the same at the Walca Far East site:
    http://www.walca.ch/index.php?m=200&c=200

    No smoking guns anywhere. I have no problem with questions, but do not have any time for false allegations.

    Cheers,
    Andy

    I see no answers here, same company, same manufacturing base. Sector distribution and exploitation of 'rules' is no alibi if people have concerns/issues. Neither is oppressive internet presence and the use of sleepers on other fora.

    I do not dislike the watches they make in terms of design and for - as for the company attitude......

    Have they been caught with there pants down or not?

    Stop being obtuse and provide some proof or vindication.

    Yes, but does this mean we've been tracked down?
    You may have been tracked, we have all taken the necessary precautions:
    I've been had, must have been the CIA, MI6, or perhaps the KGB :shock: Never thought of it as a secret :lol: I used to participate in MANY watch forums, not much time anymore. I have been a member here for a long time.

    ISTR there was talk some time ago about this one being laid to rest by Doxa hosting a tour of their factory in Switzerland. Did this ever happen?

    I'm confused. Are you saying that the watches shouldn't appear on any pages linked to the Far East 'site?
    If you click on Contact under the Far East 'site, the watches appear in the slide show.

    Yes, that's correct. Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny reported back that the facility does indeed exist :lol:
