I've just arrived! I've been recommended this place by a guy I bought my first nice watch from over at RLT forums! Hi everybody!

Was in touch with Rich at Toshi Straps, who mentioned the forum. Great fella. Great forum 8)
Could do with a bit more porn though :P
Simmilar story, but 3 years ago. I stumbled in the web with the Dreadnought, arrived here, buy a tonne of watches from Eddie and from elsewhere, ruined my life, etc. I do not belong to any other fora and, yes, my kids think I am a freak because I am always connected here...Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry
Good thread BTW. I cannot recall this question being posted before.
My auto Seiko dive watch quit working after 11 years of commendable service. I took it to an authorized dealer who quoted me $200 for the repair. That led me to do research on the Internet, which eventually led me here. At the beginning of my WIS journey I frequented nearly 10 different watch forums. Now wiser, I only frequent one.
Sounds like this is the knackers yard for PH'ers! :D
Another one here BTW!
I joined TURF after buying my first Sub, just to partake of a bit of watch chat and learn something. That lead to various investigations on the Net; which lead to a need for more watches; which lead to Google searches for "FS" ads; which lead here, to TZ.
I sometimes wish I could turn the clock back, believe me
Bus.
Actually, by someone I know who had a few old watches and took the pish out of me for buying a new GMT2c. He told me I'd lose loads of money on it.
"A man of little significance"
Haven't you just gone the other way and joined PH? :lol:Originally Posted by learningtofly

In doing some online research prior to buying my first proper watch about a year ago t'internet led me to WUS where I dabbled for a bit before a few links brought me here. Came for the advice and banter, stayed for the SC (now a daily addiction... )

Via a 'Show us your watches' discussion on the old DVDForums (now DigitalFix), someone on there was obviously also on here and had one of the 50 SB111 LEs.
I'd just got into watches (after largely ignoring them for 40 years) via a CWC G10 after my 10yr old Seiko Quartz 'thing' died.
I clicked the link that he'd left and here I am 2 years later / £9,000 lighter.
Guilty as charged. I like it here more.Originally Posted by Jonboy

I can't remember; possibly Pistonheads
PH, sold my beloved TVR and got a watch instead.
believe it or not i was actually looking for the tanzanian uk website and joined here by mistake.
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.

Stumbled across the site looking for a watch for her indoors to buy me...and ended up buying the watch from SC. The start of a very long and slippery slope
Re PH in spite of being somewhat of a petrolhead over the years I somehow never got on with that place. Anyway, that side of my life is all but dead now I have ordered a Volvo :D
I was googling for a zenith and this site poped out as well. From there I've just got interesed with the interesting stuff from here...
Glad I've found it! :bounce:
Gravitated here via lurking on Pistonheads; Somehow didn't quite gel with WUS & found Turf sometimes just a tad too focused (altho very knowledgeable) the lack of mods & healthy sarcasm still appeal.
Regards M.
An existing member told me to come have a look (save quizzing him!) and I quite liked it :)
I was aware of the site, having seen it show up in google searches but I never used it. I then bought a watch from a forum member who told me what a great place this is. I went straight home and signed up. Guess what - he was right :)
This (but less posts and nearer 7 years).Originally Posted by GraniteQuarry

Googled "Omega Speedmaster" and now I'm hooked!

Edited to add: Ah, just noticed that I helped you with your 2 day speedposting quest to get to 50 posts. Nice.
But anyway, for the record, got here by way of googoo. I can't remember what I was searching for, but I suspect it might have been the dreaded 'B' word... (And not the 'Reitbling variety either...)
I was freelancing and noticed a colleagues watch, which from memory was a Glashutte model. He recommended TZ-UK to me.
Now I can't... seem... to... break... free!
Back when I lived in the US and was on The Rolex Forums a lot, an old Welshman there mentioned this place to me. Soon as I got in country I looked it up. That was in 2006.
Damned if I remember!
Certainly I used to frequent PH (I was with the Association of British Drivers for quite a while), but can't remember linking the two.
Glad I'm here now though, although my bank balance tells a different story. :D
I google something related to watches, sales, etc. and found this and the other Watch forum for UK.
Stumbled across the place whilst researching zeno, and very glad too :) ended up with everything but the Zeno tho
Although a relative newbie I can't actually remember exactly how I arrived here! It was definitely via Time Factors and as a newbie to the watch scene in general one of my major concerns was finding out about as much as possible about how to identify fakes when buying secondhand.
I'm made to come here on a daily basis by dark forces I can't control.
Someone kill me please

Another Pistonheads refugee here. Took me a while to join, but I finally got around to it and it's been expensive ever since!
Some photos surfaced at Timezone where I was a dissatisfied long time member in '03. They were watches from some nutter in England trying to sell watches. Dreadnought anyone? PRS 1?
The rest is history. And TZ is 10 times worse now.
When I first got interested in watches I read on WUS about this English bloke creating a bronze cushion case sandwich dial...
It seems so long ago. How is the PRS-30 doing?
I was into G-Shocks and used WUS, they do have a great G-Shock forum on there.
My interest in the G slowly faded and ended up getting back into autos etc.
I sold my beloved SMP on WUS, sent it to America and then spent the money on G-Shocks  .
Im ok now, I only have one G and very rarely go on WUS.
I havnt bothered to even look for another UK based watch forum, I cant imagine there is anything that can beat this one.
