Not For Sale: JLC & Cartier

I noticed that a lot of my recent posts have been in Sales Corner, so maybe it's time I redressed the balance with three watches that are definitely not for sale.

The two JLC's are amazing - both pretty understated and beautifully engineered. I love the symmetry of the Hometime and its 'secret' GMT hand. Something I didn't realise is that it also has a micro-adjustment on the bracelet that works much like the new Rolex clasp. The Navy SEALS feels rugged enough to survive the crazy world of extreme computer programming. The Cartier is a really nice variation of the Santos and I haven't managed to chip the ADLC coating yet.

So, if you see any of these in Sales Corner, either I've found a Duometre or I'm drunk.

    Enjoy....

    Lovely Simon

Can't fault any of them - that navy seal is a little bit special though 8)

Tried the santos at my AD on , the other day. Must. resist.
Love the JLCs. My mother and sister have a reverso duetto and chrono diver respectively. I unfortunately have neither. Is it bad that I tried to convince them both to get the Men's version, telling them the bigger size suited them? They didn't fall for it. :(

What's the UK retail price on it? I saw some in Osaka around the £6k mark! I think I paid around £3300 in Doha Duty Free, but I was very, very drunk on free G&T's in the lounge :)

I like the two on each end and was looking forward to them hitting sales corner some time soon - well not too soon as I don't have any money right now ;)
It's just a matter of time...

I love those Cartiers. Always have and almost bought a Santos, a couple of times. If I ever start wearing a suit again, and making a substantial income, again, I may have to have another look.

    Cheers,

Exactly what I was about to type, but ended up typing more to say the same thing.

Gladders, I think it was around the £4500 mark. I'd just recently put a deposit down for a Panerai, so I was trying it on with no intention ( or way) of buying it! :P

So not a bad duty free bargain for me then. I must have drunk £100 worth of free G&T's from the lounge bar - so a double bonus!
