New arrival - first IWC (quick pics & thoughts)

Very happy chap after this arrived yesterday...

I took some better Q&D's with my DSLR yesterday, but didn't get round to uploading them - will add them to the post later, together with my thoughts. Suffice to say, I love it :D

Had to be done Alun - these just don't come along very often, especially when I have the cash burning a hole in my pocket :D

A PAM is definitely next on the list, but not for quite some time I suspect...

Congratulations. Was that the one from SC the other week?

Must say I'm loving mine (3236), it really is a go anywhere watch. Perfect for casual, equally perfect for formal and stealthy enough to not bring unwanted attention. I love the way the dial looks simple until you look closer and see all the little details which really bring it to life.

So enjoy, I'm enjoying mine :)

Re: New arrival - first IWC (quick pics & thoughts)

Well, not a lot I can say about this watch that hasn't been said many times already. It's an absolute beauty and I'm very happy with it.

Difficult to pick out all the things I love about it, but some of the highlights include:

    - that textured dial, with the inspired use of interlocking capital I's. Macro lenses were made for this :D
    - the applied '3D' markers and matching handset. I'm not usually a fan of this 'blingy' kind of look, but it's oh-so right for this particular watch.
    - very cool case shape (which I think I'm right in saying is Genta-inspired?). A chunky beast, but the way the case integrates with the bracelet makes it wear a really nice size.
    - speaking of the bracelet, it's an absolute work of art. Quite delicate, yet so firm & solid (love the Ti inner clasp). I've managed to get a perfect fit, which always helps, but it really is street ahead of anything else I've owned.
    - the AR and the way it changes the colour at different angles. It actually has a small segment of AR missing from the crystal at 12 o'clock (must have been rubbed/polished off), which is basically the only thing I could find wrong with it. Might have to get that looked at when it goes for service...in a few years :)

I really will try and find the time to get some decent pics sorted over the next couple of weeks - it deserves it :drunken:
