Hi Everyone,
Does anybody know what sort of watches the Top Gear presenters are wearing on tonights show. Richard Hammonds looks particularly nice.
Thanks

May: Carbon BR02 Arabic dial?
Not watching but Clarkson normally wears an Omega Railmaster. The size of watch only a man of Clarkson's stature can wear!
looked like a breitling m1 titanium white dial to me on a bracelet i used to have one on rubber nice watch
In general he's an Omega guy, I've seen him with a Speedmaster, a Planet Ocean and a Railmaster.
It looked like Clarkson was wearing a 45mm PO for most of the 'challange' against the Aussie Top Gear.
I haven't seen tonight's show, but if it was the same one as Hammond was wearing last week when he was racing the 911 in the desert, then it's definately a Breitling Chrono Avenger M1 with white face.
They showed a nice shot of it while he was driving the car.

I swear I was just thinking this exact topic......

A friend and I do that, except its taxi ranks and kebab shops.Originally Posted by Steve748
Hello Again,
Hammonds Chrono Avenger is very nice indeed
Am I the only one that doesn't care who wears what on Top Gear?

Didn't stop you looking at this thread though! :lol:Originally Posted by jwg663
Clarkson doesnt wear a Speedmaster. He wears a Planet ocean, massive Railmaster and in the past has worn a U-Boat ,Bremont and Bell & Ross.Originally Posted by segwill
Hammond also wears a JLC squadra chrono
Whilst I agree Hammonds watch is a Chrono Avenger, I'm not convinced it's an M1 version, I think it's a regular auto. The date window is in a different position to the M1 and I'm sure on his one on some shots I've seen it appears at the 3 o'clock position where the auto version has it.

Clarkson always wears Omega

I have also seen Hammond wear a Monaco.
As said before, Clarkson wears a PO amongst others.

I love trying to see what they have on, it's always somethying impressive but you can't blame them for that, i would be the same in their situation (probably ten times more though )
John :P
Im fairly sure May had a BR-02 on. Clarkson definitely had his PO on.
Clarkson always has a PO on rubber or Leather. Has had for as long as I can remeber.
Hammond used to wear a Sub Date last series. His Breitling was actually pretty cool. I never thought I'd be a Breitling person but I'm actually starting to like a few of them.
Not sure what May wears.
I'm pretty sure brands would give their watches to them any time. As would certain car manufacturers (Ford back in the day with Clarkson given the correlation of him taking delivery of a GT40 and at the same time praising the LR Disco, Aston DB9 and LR RR whilst BMW was rubbished).
How hard do you think it is to find a Chrono Avenger with a white face on a pro 2 strap?
Hammonds looks really nice, but I've never seen one up for sale in this and some other watch forums.
Ignore this question, I've just searched on SC and there was one up for sale in December, but i missed it. But before that it was Mar 2009, so they don't come up often.Originally Posted by dashfield
May often wears a rado and sometimes an iwc.
Clarkson is an "Omega man".

(First post. Hi!)
Nice article. Not.Originally Posted by guinea
But at least it's worth a couple more free Omegas for Clarkson.
Good first post! Watches part was good, I stopped reading when he started about the car on the basis that I'm not much of an Alfa Romeo fan ;)Originally Posted by guinea
James May writes about watches.

Ah, lucky James. Now a couple of free Railmasters for him too!Originally Posted by Saxon007
Does seem a bit suspicious that they both made a point of mentioning the Railmaster specifically.
Fair play to them though, I wouldn't pass up the chance to get a nice watch for free for the sake of writing a couple of words about it.
I do doubt that a free Railmaster will be a lifechanging experience for the boys on their current salaries

I thought Clarkson would have received a better education than one where he thinks it is OK to start sentences with a conjunctive. :roll:Originally Posted by Bravo73

Nice article. May is the only one that is interesting when not on TG.Originally Posted by Saxon007
The episode I was watching a couple of weeks ago looked like his Railmaster had been ever so slightly pixelated in post production. Perhaps the BBC have rumbled them?
Think I read on this forum they were deliberately obscuring the time not the watch during the west to east race across country..Originally Posted by TimD
I very vividly remember Clarkson used to wear an Omega SMP. This was a few years ago when I used to lust after a SMP and I was ecstatic to see that he wore one too. Not sure if it will have the same impact now. I guess I have grown :roll:Originally Posted by jonny

It was the Aussies who caused the kids to speak in such a way every sentence sounded like a question with raising their voice at the end of said sentence! :(
Yup. It's conjunction, by the way. Not conjunctive.Originally Posted by Steve748
