Congratulations, looks great, enjoy
At last! After well over 2 years of hunting, rejecting ones that weren't quite right due to mechanical or cosmetic condition and a recent spate of just missing out on ones that have cropped up on Sales Corners I've nabbed one.
Thanks to a cheeky PM to one of our brethren, a meeting at which a breathtaking array of vintage Omegas was produced from a suit case and a bit of negotiation; this plus a couple of other corkers yet to be photographed found it's way into my hot little hands last weekend.
For me this represents the epitome of form following function that Omega did so well in the 60's. While not pristine I think it wears it's years very well, keeps excellent time and even has a bit of residual lume on the dial and bezel.
It came on a period correct 1035 bracelet which was whipped whipped off toute suite as I'd be terrfied of scratching or dinginig it. Looking for suggestions for a more appropriate strap, ATN - Anything But Nato - as sacreligous as it sounds I don't like 'em.
Life could only be sweeter if the Toon hadn't thrown away a 3-0 lead yesterday!
Cheers
Ian :D

Very nice!
Good catch I'd say.
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Looks like a comfy pair of old boots - perfect and lived in 8)

It was worth it to wait. Nice piece.
Nice watch.Glad you were able to find one that was authentic and not messed with.I was on the hunt for one at the last NAWCC regional I went to so many fakes that I passed and bought a Omega Speedmaster instead. One of these days I mite find one that I know is real and at the right price.Congrats on your Omega 300.
Stunning, I love the big triangles! They are IMHO one of the most undervalued Omegas divers at the moment, although they are worth good money I also think they will steadily rise in value over the coming few years!
Well done
Tom
Cracking find! Don't see many original ones anymore. Love it!
Wear it in good health Ian.
Colin.
Simply stunning and great to see someone so dedicated to waiting for just the right piece - well done.
Everything comes to he who waits. Its a shame I'm so impatient. Well done.
Thanks for the comments all, it was really a case of right place right time. Mr Gillies did all the hard work for me in building up his collection over many years; finding the watches, then sourcing correct bracelets and boxes, all I did was find him!.
Perhaps now I can stop my obsessive trawling of watch forums (some hope!)
Cheers
Ian :)
