Omega "Turnip" found by my dad - with update

I just thought I would share a few pictures of a Goliath pocket watch which my dad picked up at the weekend. He bought it at a local antiques fair in a village hall from the wife of the original owner. She knew the watch as a "turnip" watch and said her former husband (now deceased - was a lot older than her) used the watch to set other clocks at train stations to it. Anyway, they say pictures say 1000 words:
    The watch in its case

Love the Goliaths. Always fancied one as a desk clock

Bit of an update on what I've found out about it.
    It has an Omega 30''' 8-D L15 p movement:

The following is from the Omega book by Marco Richon, which shows more about this type of watch. I personally think that the MM & Co Patent could refer to the fitting of the light in the watch.

That is lovely, I love the fact that these things still turn up at village hall sales etc! I bought a load of old boxed military dinky toys at a local school table sale six months back for £35 for the lot!

It is a really nice piece and looks to be in very good original condition! Job well done

Nice find. If that had turned up at my local flea market, I'd have had it too.

Sadly the bulb is no longer in the watch. It would have gone where the cutout is at the 12 marker.
