You've just posted this to get some encouragement
WISdom's a fickle thing.
I was browsing some catelogues the other day and I realised just how many of the mainstream brands range would never gain general acceptance in forumworld - I don't have the patience (or interest) enough to count but well over half the offering, certainly in the one or two of the catelogues, are blingtastic creations including precious metals and gems
On balance, and as big a generalisation as I can muster, we have a relatively narrow taste
Cheers

Personally I think gold belongs to a dresser only, not a fan of goldish divers and so on...
No, just dont like that at all.
God thats awful! :pukeleft:
These were in the Breitling catalogues for quite a few years along with yellow and White gold Aerospaces and Emergencies.
I only know this because from about 1995 to 2005 I picked up every catalogue from as many manufacturers as I could. They now, thank to mrs pashmolean, reside in the loft.

Supercool IMO.
^^^ Holy testicle Tuesday.
Mr. T phoned he wants his watch back. Crazy Fool.
Mad cow! Thank the stars my girlfriend doesnt share your wallet crippling taste in watches. :DOriginally Posted by Tai Mi Shu
The watch in the first post is an abomination. I'd wear it on a strap, in my modest Stevie Wonder style.

It's a disease. :D
I saw an 18ct Emergency in Goldmann's in the arcade in Manchester. I'm sure it was about 10 Large or maybe more. Want it so much though! 8)
I wonder if they yanked out the emergency beacon and filled it with diamonds as well.Originally Posted by Tai Mi Shu

I'd love a solid gold speedy or sub. I don't know what it is about them
Totally agree there. There's something bizarrely incongruous about a tool made of gold. Yes, I know gold does have genuine practical uses, like astronaut visors, for example. I just highly doubt that if someone designed the ultimate (say) diver's watch they'd choose gold as the material for any practical reason.Originally Posted by Samoht
