Jim.
An old boss of mine had a matching pair on a couple of his motors. 69R & R69 and there is a guy running around here who has had PUL 1T on a succession of motors.
I saw 8OND for sale recently at £50K tempting but it would look a bit daft on my truck
An estate agent in Windsor had SAM130, he was forever being pulled over, which was unfortunate because it matched his name.....
Here is Nick Mason in his Ferrari 250GTO at Goodwood, with very cool matching plate. He has owned the car and plate since the early the 1970's (cant remember the exact date but I read it in his book)
We had a red porche that wasvdriven by a blonde reg B1TCH.
at Donington in the pits a few years ago, Lamborghini Diablo driven by a lady, reg number was D14 BLO
got chatting to the lady and it turned out to be Carol Nash
Don't think that's right Mel. No SN07's as you say, but loads of SN08 number plates around Edinburgh.Originally Posted by mel
There is a lawyer with SUE 1M and a Jag with 50 BER on it I see. Also a guy that allegedly owns a few massage parlours in Edinburgh with P1 MPP
I used to see that in Windsor over 25 years ago on a big white Merc.. Good to know it's still about.Originally Posted by oily101200
I had a couple as customers who had 2BJU and BJU2 as a pair. I bought a Lotus Carlton with the number H4LOT which worked in a couple of ways.
Once saw a BMW cab with a rather striking blonde lady in it around Fulham with 169 MEN spaced as 1 69 MEN. Always wondered what her job might have been.......
LEG4L on a Range Rover was a good one that is around North London but looking it now seems to be on a 612 Scagletti so business must be good.
PAN1C is around Hampstead on a Ferrari 430, must be worth a few bob.
I "might" know who's runnng around in U KAD
Regards M
Just also remembered about a vending business where the guy has T41. He ideally wanted T42 but it wasn't available. The company is actually owned by the mother and this old lady drives about with 1 CUP on her car, much to the amusement of the local kids as they all shout at her " I see you pee"!
My plate.
I own RJM25R, Hence my username! My wife has L9N VW on her Beetle cabrio. She's called Lyn.
My personal favourite is VAN15H which used to be on a 450BHP Cosworth, and is now on an alleged 630BHP Mitsi Evo. A close second is a lady of a certain age who is extremely well preserved around Oldham in a Porsche 964 with B1ONDE..................................

There used to be a guy who lived in Saddleworth who was a "dealer" of cherished reg's.
He sold "B10 NDE" to her and I think he still owns "B1 MBO".
MrsR drives R33 NYS
Edit - if any one wanted to sell R1 ENE, myself or my brother would probably take it.
I think that "Saddleworth" has for the first time been mentioned on this forum. Not that this has anything to do with this thread but I would like to say that I was born at home in a little house in Saddleworth. Makes me all warm and happy :DOriginally Posted by Tai Mi Shu

A good one is 6ULDV8
My own plate was a little boring but quite appropriate for an Italian bike:
Unfortunately, one could only have five characters. If one could have six I would have gone for 'ITALIA'.
Proper motor with a decent plate, drove this around for a few hours.
My neighbours S Type Jag sports

Brewmaster in Canada got away with REAL ALE as a personal license plate, because the registration officer didnt recognize the meaning.
No beer drugs and sex related plates allowed.
 small world - not Uppermill by any chance?Originally Posted by Tai Mi Shu
There was a roller in London, probably still is, the plate on it was HA51 LEG, SPACED @ HA5 1 LEG!

One I remember was 4 RE. Yep, on a Ferrari.
I used to work with a guy who was a trainer and 'life-coach' - his plate was AIM UP (A1 MUP)
Pity you aren't allowed more letters: Life Coach = A1 MUPPET in my book :wink:Originally Posted by W124

Slightly off track but I do love driving out of Manchester and seeing the car wash advertising the "Best hand job in the North!".
Over the years i've seen a number of interesting registrations.
Probably the 'best'? COM 1C i think owned by Jimmy Tarbuck.
MB 1, for those old enough was owned by Max Bygraves for years, who refused to sell it to the obvious car maker :)
WOW 1E on a Chevvy Stringray, at the time.
HAM 1D driven by an Arabian gentleman
Aud 10 on an Audi but AUDIO i think was probably a better use.
A few from the Cardiff area :-
HOU5E was owned by Harold Green a local estate agent (normally on a Range Rover).
Stokes a local decorating firm had BRU5H usually on one of their beat up vans.
Local Travel Agent had FLY21T (used to be on a black Saab Turbo when I was youngster).
The best I seen very recently was on a silver SLK approaching the Newport tunnels driven by a blond "Lady" L15A BJ (and that it how it was spaced !).

D1 NKY - on a Renault 5!
S108 HAN - On a Conti GT, wife of an Irish oil chap
500 SL - yes on a 500SL, couple of the nightclub/bar chaps had it
1 P - on a CLK Merc
1 NK - Range Rover, printing company
Late to this thread and yes the G1RLS is Graham Leslie from Huddersfield, He also has K1SSS or something similar, his son Craig Leslie has 1 CL, cant get better than that!
Parked across the road from my house is an estate agents mini cooper with the number 5 OLD.
Went to take a picture and it's gone. Doh!

L4RGE and REG4L were (possibly still are) owned by someone in Kent who used to run Regal Financial Planning. I only mention "LARGE" as when he first got it, it was on a red Ferrari (355 I think) and the first post reminded me of it.
I've got some fairly car mad mates...
One's got C4LLS on his Ferrari F40, and P4UL B on his Enzo... having made a bob or two in mobile phones
The other has P5CHE on his Carrera GT and G1RDO on his Gallardo. (His other Lambos/Ferraris/Porsches/incoming McLaren make do with V10 and V12 number plates)
But the best story I've ever heard was from Bradford incidentaly (bring the thread full circle) The chat got to private plates and the chap's wife said "We have G-45633JCT, which has the correct initials in it, but you can't specify any more details than this on a Private Jet...."
