    Newbie

    Hi all!

I've been a WIS for 10 years or so but thought I had the itch scratched with my collection. Although appreciated my watches, I was comfortable with my current rotation. Unfortunately (for my wallet) I can feel the madness setting in again! Spending far too much time looking at watches on the internet, so I though I should join this excellent site.

Current collection is below. I picked most of these up 1999-2005. (Forgive the dust in the photos, I just did some quick shots).

Thanks, the JLC has had a lot of wrist time (it's a great work watch as it fits under a shirt/suit perfectly) - hence the dings and sctraches. I really need to have the case polished and it will look fantastic.

I've got a real hankering for a Breitling. I really like the Avenger, but it's just too big for my wrists.

I nearly bought a Chronomat Blackbird (I think that's the correct description i.e. before the BB was a seperate line) a while back, but didn't pull the trigger - probably should have done really. I might try and find a used one. Otherwise a Navitimer of some description is probably the classic Breitling.

Welcome to TZ UK. A Navitimer is the only Breitling model that appeals to me.

It's a shame Breitling feels the need to change it's lines so frequently. I want I watch that remains looking "current". Now they've revamped the Chronomats, the Navitimer is the only model that doesn't seems to have changed radically in years. Having said that, I believe they're even fiddling with the Navitmers now. To be fair, I welcome the in-house movement (if not the price increase).

I think I'm actually better off saving several grand and picking up a decent used Navitimer or Old Navitimer.

Thanks, some people like to collect a particular style or brand (which is fair enough) but I like to have a bit of a mix if possible. There are certainly other JLC/IWC/Rolex/Omega I would like, but since resources are limited I would rather get a representative of another brand or type first.

Yes, I think it's such a no-brainer - you can't do wrong i.e. looks and feels great, "in-house" movement, decent price. Every WIS should own one!

I have to say though, mine isn't particularly accurate (10's of seconds a day fast). I know some people's keep pretty good time so sample variability is probably an issue.

That's a really nice set. Until recently I just didn't get dive watches at all, but am beginning to develop a sneaking appreciation for them.

I never be able to summed up that amount of money say for just the JLC alone.

I'd go for the Zenith (even I have no clue how their prices relate).
