    finally pulled the trigger...

I've been on the hunt for one of these for a while now, and recently the search has been taking up far too much time, not to mention the frustrations of not being able to clinch a deal. I'd visited 2 dealers with 'grey' watches and 2 ADs where there was not much on offer in terms of discount. Anyway, this morning I finally pulled the trigger on this after walking out of a local ADs once and then going back in and being very frank with them. The result was a discount that makes the grey ones and some of the 2nd hand prices not that attractive, and more importantly than that, I am happy.

    Congrats!

Much to your chagrin, I sold a similar model recently for 35 quid . . .

Congratulations! This has to be my favourite modern sports Rolex by a sizeable margin.

What does this mean? Very frank? Were you begging? Did you break down on the floor weeping?

To be very frank, I'd rather go watchless

Excellent. Good to see someone got a result from the AD. Anyway does Frank buy a lot of watches hence the discount ?

Very nice! Did 'being very frank...' involve slamming a large wad of cash on the counter?

    Re: finally pulled the trigger...

    Thanks for the replies.

I didn't beg or break down crying on the floor. Initially I was told max 5% discount on sports watches. I asked if that was the best and of course 'yes' was the reply. So I left, did some shopping, then went back.

In hindsight perhaps I could have pushed them more, but sealed the deal I wanted at the second visit and I was happy. Great isn't it, wife's birthday tomorrow and I get a new watch :)

24 hours in and I keep looking at my wrist...

I'm nearly 18 months in and still can't stop gawping at mine. I adore it.

Recently had my centre links brushed, which has made my passion burn even brighter. :love4:

Congratulations. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I've enjoyed mine.
