Great work. Not seen a vintage croc before, it really looks the business 8)
In a sea of similarities db10 create the difference.
The following straps are really just an idea of what can be created as a "custom strap", if you have an idea, want a unique design/stitch pattern. Looking for a distinctive leather, drop me a pm and we'll see what we can do :)
Each strap pictured displays its own unique characteristics,a distinctive patina, that makes each and every strap an individual piece :D
Most of the hide pictured in this first thread comes from a military background,Swiss ammo,German and French ammo,English ammo and bridle leathers also vintage croc and snakeskin items.
Vintage croc,from a 1930''s handbag,superb detailing and unusual colouring,
A few 'ammo's,
WW1 Ammo,notched to fit a Ploprof,
WW1 Distressed Ammo,
Distressed polished pistol pouch,
Polished pistol pouch,'kick stitch',
Multi-toned Swiss ammo,
Military saddle bag,minimalist stitch,
Foreign Legion ammo,
Dated infantryman's belt,
German military jacket,bottle green,
WW1 Cracked Ammo,
A brace of spottled ammo's,
Great work. Not seen a vintage croc before, it really looks the business 8)
Excellent work, very nice
The croc looks the business. I'd love one of those for my PAM112.
Thanks Gents, the croc really is an unusual strap with a beautiful patina, 8)
I agree, your straps are really very nice but that vintage croc strap really does it for me.
By the way when you say vintage croc strap, do you mean just old croc leather from an old handbag for example or a do you actually mean from an old geriatric crocodile? :)
Very nice, the vintage croc is a real looker.
Love the first one, fits perfectly with the Panerai!
Liking your efforts with the 'kick stitch' - especially in the orange thread.
The Panerai also looks very at home on the strap - congratulations.
Thanks...........here with its new owner :)Originally Posted by dirtbiker

Another nearly completed exotic(a little fine fettling to do), a vintage sand snakeskin Mappin & Webb, with a truly beatiful patina. Hoping Celia, this was worth waiting for :)
i LOVE it.. its going to look top notch with the tobacco.. to say that im thrilled is an understatement :drunken:
A special order, new hide, parallel stitch with a twist :)
Looks great chap cant wait to get :)
This just completed custom strap was commissioned by Celia(verv), who very generously sent me a pair of her prized Cydwoq's, handmade in the USA, for me to put to the knife, here's the result;
The Codwoq strap was sewn with natural waxed stitch and is pictured here with a custom handmade silver buckle by Hannah,
result!
i cant wait to get it on the pam :D :D
im glad my boots took a detour from the grave to the wrist.. how cool is that?
(im slightly excitable, i know)
Hope it looks good on the 88, 'from the grave', how apt :DOriginally Posted by verv

Agreed, both are top guys :thumbleft:
Some pics of some of their work..
Barry, your quite right, James is without doubt 'da man' :D and Stewart those pic's put me to shame the new logo m8, is just fantastic :thumbright:
Here's a few more very poor pic's
First , a couple rusty's (Russ) new strap's, a sand snake and an oil stained hide, great colouring and texture, 2 of my favourite's, these really are great skin's to work with,
Next pic, knife edge WW11 ammo, WW1 multi toned ammo and lastly a vintage suede with silver stitch,
The straps do look very very good IMO.
Almost makes we want to get a Panerai!!
Any pics of them on a Rolex? I know the Panerai cases suit the oversized straps and buckles but would love to see something vinatge ish (and a little more reserved in the size dept) looking on a Rolex Sub or GMT.
Thanks
Great username, love that fim! :DOriginally Posted by Slevin Kelevra

Picked them up from the PO on my way to work this morning Mel and they look great. The oiled leather smells wonderful :p and the new buckles are a nice touch. Can't wait to get home and try them on my 312, I'll get some pics up in this thread tonight if you want, though they won't be a patch on the other pics here :)

Really concentrated on oil-tanned hide, super soft, fantastic texture, great hide to work with, also incorporated in some of the straps are a combination of stitch colour, so that it creates a highlight within the strap :)
Jut received a couple of custom made oversize silver buckles, completely cut and made by hand by Hannah, both made to my design and beatifully finished. The amount of work required to complete a buckle is quite lengthy due to all the components being cut out with a tiny saw.
this buckle features Willie G in a flaming design
sewn in design, now coupled with a vintage saddle strap
]
the buckle has gone through various polishing stages, the flames reticulated and the whole buckle chemically blackened and finally polished to give it an aged look.
another silver buckle, with uneven reticulated finish and tiny skull detail
 Wow, that's some cool work :thumbleft:
Who is 'Hannah' and does she do other types of metal work? I only ask as I have something in mind.
