Hi there,
Try George Daniel's "Watchmaking". Years in the making, think it only came out last year.
I've always been a little OCD about watches, but it's only recentley that
I've started spending larger amounts on watches and researching them online.
It's only now that I realise how little I know, and how much I want to learn.
Reading all your posts only confirms this even further.
Whats a good source of knowledge about history, and movements etc.

I cannot see how that would help. :roll:Originally Posted by scarto
This is a good start. Follow the links and then ask.

Costume jewellery. Ouch!!!
Try these:
Gene Stone: The Watch
David Thompson: The History of Watches
Helmut Kahlert: Wristwatches: History Of A Century's Development
Stewart Unger: American Wristwatches
James M. Dowling: The Best of Time Rolex Wristwatches: An Unauthorized History
Lang & Meis: Chronograph Wristwatches: To Stop Time
Agree with the above list. 'Watchmaking' (has been out for at least 5 years I think) is a very technical book and is very heavy going!
Furry muff. Depends how quickly up the curve the OP wants to get. :mrgreen:Originally Posted by abraxas
