A definate no from me but as long as you like it.
Yes, without a doubt.
A bit of water now and again won't destroy a leather strap anyway.
A definate no from me but as long as you like it.
I voted no as I don't think that strap suits that watch, but I do like leather on a diver.
How about a black Toshi with orange stitching? I think GregR on here has one on his PRS3LE, will hunt for the photo. Here's an old one of mine
<EDIT>
Here's Greg's photo (I'm sure he won't mind me copying it)
I voted no. It's impractical and looks wrong in the same way a dress watch would look on a rubber strap.
Looks fine to me as a daily wearer but obviously needs to be on rubber if used as a diver.
Although I personally can't stand the water I have several divers but prefer rubber or bracelet.
It's all down to personal choice so do what is right for you.
Kind regards
Dave
A matter of personal taste!
The nice thing about a strap is that they are easily changed.
If you know you are going diving or are going to for sure get wet put it on metal, nato or rubber.
Otherwise a real leather strap can add a very nice look to a diver.
Depending on the leather/dye and how it is cared for before and after it gets wet, al ittle water isn't going to instantly ruin it.
Before synthetics: boots, belts, jackets, saddles, holsters, ammo pouches, gun slings/straps where all leather and held up ok if cared for.
If I remember correctly even the old diving helmet canvas suits had leather straps on them.
Just a matter of personal taste but I like the look. Take the PRS 14 gorgous and sturdy diver comes on leather and looks great.
Cheers
Earl
Here is a Hirsch Carbon strap - similar look to leather but water rated at 100m. The ones on Eddie's site are less expensive and rated "showerproof", which is certainly more than leather can say.
vintage or vintage remake yep, modern nooooooooo.....
Keep on steel, rubber maybe
Absolutely yes
Only relevant for those who dive with it in which case waterproof leather would be ok.
The rest is about taste and there is no discussing that save for óne aspect; the poser thing.
If one would wear a diver for the image of it, then depending on the brand/type it should be on itīs īproperī bracelet or strap.
Like the proplof on a mesh.
no for me. I have my SKX007 on the rubber which in my opinion is the better combination.
I voted yes, as an everyday watch/strap but not for swimming with.
Yours is a nice strap can be worn all year round, my Di Modell Chronissimo looks nice on most of the divers I've had so its a yes from me.
Nope, sorry! The word 'incongruous' springs to mind. For me, Dive watches need to be on bracelets or rubber. :)
Yes :!:
I say yes! Especially for a dressy diver.
A big diver like a JSAR or sumo however, looks way better on bracelet imho.
Here is my "dressy diver".
Easy.... .
