So last night, we're watching that "Alone in the Wild" show. It generally features morons who have somehow ended up, alone in the wild. In this case it was one of the judges off strictly I think... Australian guy.
Anyway, my girlfriend asked me "What watch has he got on Wayne?". I was shocked but have hidden my amazement for now and will see if it re-occurs :D It could just be a one-off of course :blackeye:
Unfortunately, she asked what I couldn't answer. I think it was some kind of Swatch to be honest. Better than the pink Toy watch that Gino what's-his-face (chef on TV) was wearing on his show yesterday afternoon though.

This is not a good sign, it could develop into wanting next.
I'm very lucky... She's a nurse and can't wear anything but pocket watches :-DOriginally Posted by EdRonax
That is so funny. If my wife did that i think i would faint. Mind you she has got used to my pausing the TV and rewinding to view the watch.Originally Posted by toastie
Same here, I guess it had to rub off eventually!
Let see if she has developed a WIS 6th sense when it comes to Christmas presents!
My wife already has four watches and wants more, but (good on her) she just bought me a Steinhart Ocean 1for Christmas and a watch box for my birthday (this month). Just spotted her skimming through my QP watch mag..... Can only lead to good things right?
that was a true story by the way
my wife thinks watches are a waste of time and money she also works for the nhs so cannot have a watch at work but still owns 3 tag heuer's a seamaster and a bi-metal rolex but with a 4 and a bit inch wrist she thinks anything over 30mm is massive so my collection is safe
My wife has not gone as far as ordering me a watch yet - she wraps what I've ordered. But I've now got her hinting at a new watch for herself this Christmas........ small stepsOriginally Posted by xtriple
My Missus has asked me "what watch is that" while watching TV a few times, she only does it for my sake so I can feel smug if I know. She is taking the piss really but I like it anyway.
Cheers
My wife has gotten into the habit of spotting Breitlings before I do...
You see! This is why I am not married
my wife gets frustrated by me spending hours on this site
Remember, Xmas is fast approaching!
Could be a ploy!
My girlfriend spots watch stores when she travels... :D
Same here, happens all the time to me too!Originally Posted by Michael E
I wish I had never spoken about watches to my wife. She used to be happy wearing a cheapy dress 'next' watch. But unfortunately not anymore..... :(
My missus has got into watches. She will roll her eyes a bit when I am watching something and totally uncunnected to the bit of the program or film I will say 'ooh. Nice XXX' or more geekily why is that person who has no money wearing that watch :P
We are going to Salon QP so I can say I have converted her. She sadly wants a skeleton watch and I can find anything nice under £300. I am not quite stretching to the Cartier etc yet!
My wife often spots the various watches chefs wear on cookery programmes - James Martin on sat. morning kitchen (Rolex and Chophard?) and Simon Hopkinson on the good chef (JLC reverso).

My udderalf' is getting very concerned about my affliction. I even have to keep a porn website open so i can switch over quickly so she doesn't catch me "perving" at watches on here!
