... because it's an iconic design and by knowing all the negatives associated with the brand you know you are not falling for the hype, just a great watch.
When im not totally happy with the moderation on their forum
Or their warranty transfer limitations.......
Whenever I see one on the forum, or on SC ..... I lust after them, again and again and again.
Doxa..... You're like an Ex girlfriend I just want to [s:1s6v196o]bang[/s:1s6v196o]..... Errrr.... I mean see every now and again.

It weird. I can bypass all sorts of Rolex, Breitling, Omega etc... threads... But everytime a Doxa comes up,it's an instant click, and I absolutely hate it when I just miss one on SC :-(
I like the fact that In the "wild" I've not ever ever seen anyone else wearing one, bar the fella that introduced me to them.
Ive had a Sharkhunter 750t, twice ;-)
A Sharkhunter 1000t
A Searambler 1200t
A Project Aware Pro 1000t
And just got my first GMT.......
And still trawling the various sites to get a pro or sharkie also.
They're good looking, different, and robust.. Which is probably very similar reasons to going back for another dose with an ex :D
Because they are cool watches with pure divers heritage. All proper divers appreciate them for what they are. They are the real OLD SCHOOL divers.
Forget about the company and muppet moderators on WUS....just enjoy the watch

Hey Murph,
Funny you should mention Doxas as I have been researching them lately as I really miss my Orange monster well I miss having an orange watch not really miss the monster. I have always thought that whenever I see an orange Doxa it always looks like it has the brightest best orange dial out there so I thought right then maybe a doxa could be the one so I have asked around and it seems like the Sub 1200T Pro will be a good size for my 6.5" wrist so I put out a wanted to buy on a couple of forums and lo and behold today I got an e mail from the states some chap has a 1200 he will sell to me it was sent to him in May last year so it's about a year and a half old. So I just need to iron out shipping costs and see if he will fill out the customs form that it is a gift so hopefully I won't get hit for duties, but knowing my luck I will, if you have any tips on buying from the states let me know. Did you see that stunning Doxa 750 GMt on SC the other day what a stunner :)
Gray if you want to sell me that 300T that would be great :)
Andy
It's OK! They are a unique design, and a little slice of history. I have loved them since the early 80's. I wasn't able to get my first used one until the mid 90's after they had shut down.
I only found the revived Doxa during an Internet search for a bracelet. The new models are solid. Despite the comments of some, they're QC was fine to me. I have had all of the modern models (some more than once ), with the exception of the 5000 series, and absolutely never had one issue....ever.
I prefer the late 60's through the 70's because I like the look of vintage watches...and the little bit of history. There is a little bit of wondering where it's been.
New Doxa's forum bites....especially the rude and oppressive psycho TBone. Don't measure the company by that guy.
Here is my latest (my 5th)
Go for it! - Mike

Did you buy that GMT :D :D
I should have guessed, I want the orange dial but I really did think that 750 was just awesome I bet it looks great in the flesh :)
Hopefully if I can sort out shipping with the guy in the States I may have a 1200T on it's way soonish.
Nice.
The 1000t and 1200t are bothe pretty similar in size. Both being 42 with the 1200 being slightly thicker.
Only one fault I found with the 1200 was the micro adjustment on the clasp. One of the holes is useless as it sits too close to the bracelet end so the diver extension won't fit,..... so it can't be used on that hole . Other than that. Perfect.
I'm on the hunt now for either a 1200 or 1000, .... May be brave and go for a pro, but sure I'll end up with a shark

this is the 750gmt from SC early this week :D
Because they're cool 8) (even when they're not orange...)
A timely thread.
Sourcing these does seem to be a bit of a challenge.
What are the views on this one?

I wanted one for +25 years and I guess the Internet made what would have been impossible, possible, with communities like this one. Started with a 600 re-issues but always knew this would only be a stop-gap until I could get my hands on an original. Have you thought about doing the same?
Nice Divingstar - I think that's the rarest of the old 300'Ts.Originally Posted by demer03

I didn't bought it,
on the way home I realized that it was a mistake not to take the Divingstar....
And my personal favourite!!!
