Perfect sense!! And that's also probably why I love the Burans... Dostoievsky, Turgnev, Tolstoi, Pushkin... Man, I need a Buran!!!
you should of baught my buran chrono listed on here and on RLT. you let it slip through your fingers TWICE !!

To answqer the other poster, thats one example from them that I don't think is large or excessively ornate just simply a ncie looking watch

Thanks, I don't know if this is early, but the number on the movement dates the watch to '87

It is not that difficult to find one. What about this?

Those all grey dial Sturmanskies were produced from '86 to '88, and after that the grey/white dial version was produced on through the fall of the USSR. In the 90's civilian versions of the 31659 Sturmanskie came into production with a variety of differences including blunt ended hour & minute hands, chrome plated brass (rather than stainless steel) cases and eventually a round cased version with a snap on caseback.

The original Sturmanskie military issue only aviator has a 3133 movement and a silver dial; it was produced from 1977 to around 1986. And before that it was the Strela 3107 that was issued to the Soviet Air Force.

Cheap and very cheerful IMO. Great VFM.

I had the KGB version and some time ago the Hanhart homage shown below.

    Cheers,
    Neil.

Oh, I know they are out there, to be had. And, I do, indeed, badly want one. However, I have a "Must Have" list that runs on for miles! Although, I have been considering leaving my job, accepting my wife leaving me, and just snapping up each and every timepiece on that list. We must all admit, it is an option worthy of consideration....

Where is yours from, very nice one too. All white hands decent amount of lume on the numbers all neat and clean, very beautiful.
    cheers
So a bit more information about that one (I finally found it on a seller's stock). The price being asked for a new one is €580. It was a special edition made in 2000 and awarded to Poljot's workers who have been with them for a long time. It was never intended to be sold on the open market.

The caseback depicts the first building where the factory was set up in 1917, which had been a tobacco factory until then.

    Practical questions:
How often do you wind your 3133?
And, when you wind it, how many cranks of the crown do you give it?

  14. #64

    Re: Show your 3133 chronographs

    1. Once a day obviously.

    2. Until the crown meets resistance and I can not turn it any more.

Thank you. I usually crank it 10 or 15 times in the morning, and then always fidget with cranking it periodically through the day. This approach is probably harmful, or some such. Yet, accustomed to automatics, I simply attempted to figure out manuals as I was going along.

    Re: Show your 3133 chronographs

15 turns sounds about right. That is, if the watch has been wound the day before. If running on empty, it is at least double that. I do not have my 3133 with me, so can not check right now.

When winding my manuals, I count the turns and go easy on the watch for the last few turns unitil it can not be wound any more. I usually have a good idea about, how many turns it takes to wind each individual manual watch.

I do not keep winding the watch during the day. I see no reason to, but would not know whether it is harmful to the movement or not.

It would mean the disadvantage of not knowing, how many times to wind the watch in the morning ... and we can not have that!

The counting of the turns of the crown and the going easy for the last couple of turns might be pure paranoia - but then again, I have never caused harm to a watch by winding it.

Anyway, the movement offers resistance when fully wound, so as to tell you when not to wind it anymore.
I seem to remember others describing, what will happen or rather not happen, should one attempt to overcome the resistance of the crown, when movement is fully wound.

The power reserve is about 50 hours when the chronograph is turned off.I cannnot measure the number of turns of the crown, but I do near 50 winds.

    Re: Show your 3133 chronographs

I thought I had been cured of my desire for that 150 years Junkers 3133 and then you lot start this thread and keep it going.

    Not fair at all

Somehow I don't like Russian on the dial and am drawn more to the Strela and Junkers because of that.
    Any others I should consider?

Cheers mate. Have you dealt with that seller before? Also is that strap a custom?

I have, my Kirova came from there. Very pleased with him, it was probably the fastest watch I own to come from Russia (he's based near Moscow, so that helps...). He hasn't included the watch box but I say that's a good thing. It meant the watch came in a tinny cardboard package (strap not mounted on the head too) so it slipped customs quite easily. A Poljot box can be had within the EU for €20 or so.

Thanks K. Think I'll give him a shot. Like the look of this one. But from the pictures the strap is different so I assume the one above is custom.

Yeap, I think it's an aftermarket Hirsh "Carbon" with red stitching.

Thanks, the 31659 Sturmanskie is also military issue only, if I'm right.

Just thought I'd add my old Junkers. This has had quite a lot of wear, and needs a bit of TLC. Good reliable watch though.

    Hi bullseye1 & kutusov

I've been away for a long weekend :drunken:

The carbon is a Morellato from watch-band-center.co.uk.

This was my origional search for a strap for this watch viewtopic.php?f=1&t=106837&st=0&sk=t&sd=a&start=60

Good luck, the ebay seller by the way is very good. I have made two purchases without a hitch.
