OMG!! I really like that....
Is it a limited edition?
How much is it? Judging by the other prices it will be way out of my price range.
I am still waiting for a vintage one in good condition to come up for sale...
Does anyone on this forum have much insight on the Grand Seiko 130th anniversary watches?
From what I've seen on the internet and from the Seiko marketing machine, these are very nice old-school watches, true to the original classic design, beautifully finished and powered by a specially-designed movement. Understated and with none of the branding overkill of contemporary design GS watches, nice to wear with a suit. The hands look very similar to the SBGR061 (which I have coveted before) - beautiful clean, mirrored shards, which catch the light in a very remarkable way in real life. Dial is nice and plain, back to the essence of a watch - pure timekeeping. It's small by a lot of people's standards, but I think a good size for a smart watch (similar to IWC 3531 /3532).
I've seen a few reviews on other forums, for example:

But I'm interested in hearing the views of people here. Pricing-wise, they're not cheap, but I guess there is a really limited supply to Europe (2 in England I heard, though that's probably sales talk, I guess), so it will have rarity value and a possible "investment value" (who am I kidding?). I don't think I'd be forking out EUR 25k for the platinum version though!

Very very nice dress watch, though personally I would prefer it with a date. I have to agree with some of the comments about the attractiveness of having 'Grand Seiko' on top of the dial and omitting 'Seiko'. Makes it even more exclusive.
Prices were, if I remember, around:
Steel GBP 5k
Gold GBP 15k
Platinum GBP 25k
I prefer without the date, to be honest, when it comes to dress watch like this. I am sorely tempted. Someone tell me there's something wrong with it, please!
No experience here, it's the first one I've seen. It's certainly a beauty.
It is one of the best looking watches ever according to me!
I have allways loved Grand Seiko and specelly the vintage ones, but I have to say this on is the best of them all!
You can read more about it http://www.grand-seiko.com/130th/SBGW033.html
Cheers!
Very nice looking watch.
Looks like the SBGW001 that never was 8)
By God, I like it. Not coming soon to an AD near you though :(
Lovely, really like that. I like the branding but another vote for a date.

Got mine last week. I like it a lot.
With the SBGW005:
And with a 43999 from 1964:
Very nice indeed. Perfect Grand Seiko for fans of the classic older ones without the potential pitfalls. They don't seem to be hard to find here in the shops right now, but I expect they will be gone fairly soon.

Very nice watch and it is classic watch.
What number is the edition limited to?
It's a lovely watch, but if it's high production numbers, I would struggle to pay £5k for one.

1300 pieces

Thanks Guys - 1300 (presumably worldwide) is respectibly restrained number, so it's not going to be saturated (the market).
Super-classy Molle!
Personally I find the dial and overall proportion of 005/001 better than this new model.
Really love the look of the platinum one
But at 25k :| it must be the most expensive Seiko ever
Think the credor spring drive sonnerie was about £ 90.000Originally Posted by Dan83bz
