Paul, it certainly wasn't a problem with my Marj MCXLVIII project: A Bill Yao Type 48 dial and hands set (minuis the second hand, but that is another story) in a PRS-53 case:
I just had a call from my watchmaker telling me that my new Type 48 dial won't fit into my new Precista 53 case. Apparently the Precista 53 uses a 31.5 mm dial and the Type 48 is too large at 32 mm.
What's confusing is that I'm almost certain I've seen photos of this exact combination on this forum.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated, including the names of Seattle watchmakers who aren't afraid to do Frankenwatch conversions.
Thanks in advance for any advice offered!
Paul

Why don't you contact Kent Parks at Everest watch works about repainting the 53's dial. He does great work it just takes time. Heres a pic of the watch he did for me.
Mine went in with a little coaxing. It was a tight fit, but it did go in.
I've taken the watch, dial and hands to a new watchmaker. We'll see if he has any luck.
Clearly what I should be doing is buying a case back opener, some watchmaking tools and the courage it takes to use them!
If the new watchmaker can't do it I'll give it a try on my own.
