Proud Gooner here, but still quite shocked at the thought of no Man U beyond the group stage. It's obvious they're a team in transition at the moment, and in any case Ferguson doesn't really have anything left to prove. For Citeh, a bump down to reality, but they did have some very tough competition (e.g. Napoli have been very underrated by many IMHO).
I don't think Gooners can be too complacent after some of our our slapstick comedy antics on the pitch on Tuesday, even 'though it was a largely a second team playing in Greece. Then again we have proven we can beat Barcelona at home, even 'though it counted for little in the end.
The craziest is Lyon which needed a victory and a loss of Ajax AND a 7 goal difference to fill.
