my sympathies. some people don't realise the passing of a loved pet is just as hard as the passing of a relative.

All i can say having three Yorkies my oldest is seventeen next month is i feel you pain.
No easy words
I FEEL LIKE I'M DIAGONALLY PARKED IN A PARALLEL UNIVERSE
Really sorry to hear of your loss and i know its heartbreaking i ve had the experience a couple of times so i know it all too well ,
things just don t seem the same .
Deana was a very lucky dog to have such a devoted friend.
As someone who lost my dog a few years ago at the age of 17, I feel your pain. It's simply heart breaking and took me a long time to come to terms with my loss. Even now when I think of her I feel very upset.
I said I'd never have another one because I couldn't face the heartache again, but I've now got two rescue dogs, which I adore.
Console yourself with the fact you gave your dog so many years of loving and a fantastic life.
When the pain starts to heal consider getting another dog, maybe from a rescue centre. There are so many out there desperate for a home, and a family so obviously as caring as yours has so much to offer one.
I'm very sorry my friend, I have a few of those in the past.
Jocke
I have been through that stage myself and know very well how it feels.
My sympathies are with you & your family. Time is your only healer my friend.
I'm so sorry to hear this Neil; and having gone through this with our dog after him being with us for 14 years I know exactly how you and your family are feeling right now.
Loosing a pet that has been part of your family for so long is like loosing a member of the family.
But in time the pain will ease and you'll remember all the good times you had with Deana.
Keep your chin up my friend.
Best Regards
Peter

I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Very sorry to read of your loss, Neil. Dogs have a special place in my heart and I know how tough this loss is.
All the best to you and your family.
Jay
Thanks again for your kind thoughts at this time and reminiscences of your own dear departed canine friends.
My wife has started reading this thread and really appreciates the depth of feeling that you have all posted.
Thank you all.
Cheers,
Neil.
I am very sorry to hear this Neil (just discovered this thread), I am sure she had a very happy and joyful life as much as any dog can have and in time you and your family will be able to give a happy home to another little character..

Gutted for you and your family
Neil my sincere sympathy, I lost a faithful friend the early part of this year, and my tough image melted and I cried more tears than I thought possible,in fact as I type this I'm welling up again. All I can say is that memories you cherish rarely diminish over time and I'm sure you will have a lot of happy memories to comfort you and your family.
Very sorry to read of the loss of your beloved dog, Neil, truly sounds like she was one of the family.
I inherited a very elderly Old English Sheepdog (Dulux dog), and in the eighteen months she had me, I couldn't believe a dog could become such an important companion, and when Daisy died I was devastated.
My sympathies are with you and your family.

Sorry to hear it. I have always recognised you through your avatar. I am not a dog man myself (I am alergic to animal skins) but I have seen all the love that can go to those very special animals, and the almost human qualities dogs can display towards their owners. It must be tough....
Sorry to hear this.
I've had my share of heart breaks like these. I try to think of the good times that I've had with them & the good life they have had at home. If its any consolation, I think its much better that they leave this world in a happy environment, at home, than at the Vet.
.
Really sorry for her (and you) ...RIP Deana..
Sorry to hear that. My thoughts are with you. I lost my first pet when I was 12, and she died in my arms. It's an awful thing, and I always say I won't get another...until the next time that is.
I know how it feels to loose a dear pet.
Be strong!
