I gave myself this one for christmas.
Thanks to myself, what a wonderful gift. I'm a very nice guy! :D
Cheers,

My watch gift to myself this Xmas was a Tudor monte Carlo I bought over here on tz-uk. That will probably be my last purchase for 2011! :-)

Bought a watch for my girlfriend and brother, but didn't get one myself. I'm doing something wrong somewhere I think.
Great gift...got that myself a couple of years ago , which was very a nice surprise. Enjoy. :)Originally Posted by trisdg
My wife asked me to order myself the watch that I had been drooling over. 2 weeks before christmas I called Steinhart and spoke with Sabine and was able to sub the standard band with an extra long strap at no extra charge. (I have an 8.25 inch wrist)
I ordered the watch on a wednesday and recveived it on the following monday. In all I'd say service was excellent. I received a confirmation within minutes along with a further email saying my order was being processed. On friday i was notified that the package was ready to go and given the tracking number.
I opened the package and Steinhart had shipped the watch with the stock band as well as the extra long that I had requested. The watch sits comfortably and the quality, fit and finish is admirable.
One of the Nav B automatics may well be my next.
:? Back in the day, when Pontious was a Pilot one was said to have received a gold watch when he stained his briefs in a moment of panic

That's a very smart Helson
I bought this for me for Christmas the price was right due to the dial being a service dial when Sinn got some Bund surplus and sold them in the 1990's but at another forum a few members think it could be a Heuer service dial that was done during it's military service or a Heuer service dial done in Germany done during a service after it was sold as surplus a mystery to figure out but still happy with the watch the case, movement and hands are all original.
Sellers photo still in the mail. This will be the last watch buy for some time been wanting a Heuer issued bund for a while.
Now I really couldn't follow that at all  but it's a great-looking watch--I hope it arrives soon.Originally Posted by River Rat
This link mite help what I could not explain right. There are a lot of different dial variations on these.

Finally joined the Sub club!
I tried on a 14060m in all innocence whilst killing time between meetings. No intention to buy whatsoever but couldn't stop thinking about it and returned a few days later with the dosh.
Solemnly promised SWMBO it was my last and the collection was now complete. Within an hour she had caught me on SC. Was only looking...
Got myself a G-SHOCK .
Picked up this for Christmas. Still not too good at posting pics so here is a link.
I realise that a lot of people here are not fans of Christopher Ward but I have to say that this watch is soooo nice in the flesh. Very well put together.

My mother, against my advice, bought my fiancee a quartz Sekonda with glittery stones round the dial. Precisely what the fiancee doesn't like or need. So a bit awkward there but the fiancee was pre-warned and suitably pleased when she unwrapped it.
Just before Christmas I bought myself a Seamaster Megaquartz which I'm wearing now and am properly in love with. It perfectly fills the gap in the collection for an everyday watch I can also wear on the rare occasion I want to look smart or put on a suit. I'm not a fan of quartz but this is something special.
"A man of little significance"
I also received this today (Vostok amphibian Steve Zissu):
Used to have it 3 times in the past and I was selling it, cause I was thinking that this is very easy to find, but it was sold out in most of the stores I used to buy these watches for quite some time now. First thing I did, after taking the photo was to remove the bracelet and install a brown ZRC Aquacalf leather band.
At least we are not all on benefits and winging about our finances, the term third world comes to mind  :lol:Originally Posted by abraxas

No watch for me this year I'm afraid, me and SWMBO decided on a "together" gift this year.
But I will have some watches for sale in the near future so I can get me one from the wishlist.
Well my son decided to take the piss by giving me this
but i did get my Seamaster back from repair last week as well
full overhaul on the movement, a new glass, crown and stem which was corroded. Left the dial dirty/marked/patina and hands as original
"You wanted a watch!" they said.
I did pretty well - no photo's as yet, but I was given a Stowa Antea KS and a 1979 Heuer 1614
Both purchased by me, and then ruthelessly confiscated as Christmas gifts!
I come from the third world and it's nothing like this. Bloody luxury!Originally Posted by Daddelvirks

Bit late but my Explorer II was a late by a few days Christmas present to myself :)
A fellow watch aficionado bought me a cheap backwards reading watch. A bit of fun but I wish folk wouldn't bother. It's NEVER going to get used.
:) sat here laughingRe: So who got a watch for Christmas then??
