Um...
Just arrived, and have only taken the stickers off. Chuffed to bits with this one. This is the Zenith Defy Open Air Chrono. Limited to 200 pieces worldwide, but I managed to get one BNIB. 46.5mm, but the pvd bezel helps it to wear smaller. Love the dial on this, and the motif is carried over onto the strap also. Definitely less in-your-face than other Defy models, but with loads of wrist presence. Still noticing new details even now. Anyway, here are some pics:
Um...
"A man of little significance"
I absolutely [s:15yb5ejl]hate[/s:15yb5ejl] [s:15yb5ejl]loathe[/s:15yb5ejl] [s:15yb5ejl]despise[/s:15yb5ejl] [s:15yb5ejl]dislike[/s:15yb5ejl] love that one!! Well, maybe not.
awesome - agreed on the dial. much prefer this than its siblings
love the red bits on the dial.
how do you like the Flyback complication? :)
me no likey. design cue looks like it was a random assemblage of lego techno
Good luck everybody. Have a good one.
Biting my tongue here ... :lol:Originally Posted by Bogmanfan

That being said, this thread is a (scary? ) example of just how very different watch taste can be.
Well it's your watch and it's what you think that matters....so wear it in good health. :)
Personally,i don't hate it...i don't like it either though...somewhere in the middle.
Its a bit too Rudolf Nureyev for my liking.
Dial is lovely, not a fan of the pvd bezel though. Silver would've looked better imo. But if you're happy then that's all that matters :)
That's a confrontational thread title for a "distinctive" watch...
I see there is 4 hands on the centre, is it hours, minutes, chrono second and running seconds?
You got me, I don't hate it - I am just totally indifferent towards it
Congratulations
Gray
Well, uhm.. I like your pics! :D

Cool m8 8)
challenge accepted,sorry chap.
I do love it, but only looking at it's behind
Not a bad looking watch really, congrats.
Thanks for all the comments guys. I realise my taste is out of kilter with the status quo on here  (not for me a battered Sub with a word in red) and thread title was very tongue in cheek. Got to say though, I've been lusting after a Defy Open for ages, and delighted to have landed this one. And I also love owning a piece which produces such strong reactions and im actually a little disappointed that one poster said they had no opinion :D
I quite like it! 8)
Do you have a wrist shot and how does it wear mate?
It is an rare bird indeed, nice pickup, congrats!
Congratulations on having the balls to buy something you like, rather than worrying about resale value.
I like it.... And I'd be more than happy to wear such a distinctive and different looking watch :) ....
After all, I can always go back to my sub, when I want to be a boring old fart.... :D
What I like about that is
- it's a Zenith, therefore the movement is beyond reproach
- there is some fantastic detailing in many areas that they could really have got away with leaving e.g. the buckle and the pushers look amazingly well desgined and engineered
- the dial appears to be both well put-together and interesting
Whether it really goes together cohesively is a personal thing - but I would describe it as Japanese in the sense that their asthetic concentrates on the finer details in isolation - which are undoubtably great on this watch, with less concern of the overall look - which may appear busy to some.
Sorry for a rather pretentious answer.
I really like it though!
Not sure if I would buy one, but you have to admire the attention to detail.
Also with such a limited supply it is bound to appreciate.
You really need to go for what you like.
I see many on here that people seem to rave over but leave me completely cold.
Nice one.
Ian.
Okay - I must admit it looks pretty cool - but I don't think I wuld buy one.
BTW your photography skills are awesome. 8)
It's a stunning watch and equally impressive photo's 8) 8)
Not for me, but to quote Groove Armada; 'if everybody looked the same...'

Every watch a story.
Does nothing for me to be honest, but congrats for acquiring such a unique piece nonetheless :thumbleft:
It's really not my style but if you are love it then that's what counts.
I don't normaly post negatively about members watches - but since you ask - sorry, no like.
Ummm, sorry dude...
However... having re-examined the photos the details are fantastic and that appears to be a very well finished watch.
Not my cup of tea, but I don't hate it. I like simple looks and have a penchant for Omega, but there are enough jazzy looking watches out there to tell me that someone likes them. You obviously love it, so give it a good home ... and enjoy. :thumbleft:Originally Posted by Bogmanfan

What's not to like?
It's awesome!
Not my cuppa since you asked, but glad you like it.

I admire your passion for this piece and I agree it does possess some interesting details. There is no doubt it is distinctive! Enjoy. 8)
I like it.
Congrats!
I hate to say it but........
I HATE it!............................................... ................................but then, I'm a HATER! :D
WOW, so Zenith did find a buyer for one then?
IMO they are the worst looking zenith series of watches ever produced, it looks like a cheap Swatch knock-off, with a side order of extra ugly.
Shame, as I wanted to like them, being Zenith and all, with their long history and second to none movements in their price bracket, but they really missed the mark with these.
A striking tenth on the other hand, gimme, gimme, gimme
Smart Zenith.
nice, want one.
I'm not a big fan of the aesthetic they followed with these models but if they needed to do that to get to where they are now, with regards to design, then it's all good.
Also, I don't have the 10" wrists required to make a watch of that size work.
Most importantly though, enjoy it.
Not for me but you can see the quality of the watch from your excellent photos :thumbright: .
