    Let's start with a disclaimer:

... but Orange and T-Mobile use the same network.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

    Eddie,
Whilst they share the same network (as do Virgin and Tesco), at the moment that is only for 2G (not data). Eventually they will share everything but that is some time away. I personally find that their customer service is very good indeed, call coverage is outstanding as you do see the benefit of the combined networks for this, and they offer some good data packages. Downside - well if you want the latest spangley gadget phone T-Mobile and Orange tend to lag behind O2 & Voda' by at least 6 months, again they say that this will be rectified in the future.
I have an O2 contract for my work phone and I have more issues with dropped calls and coverage than my personal T Mobile phone. I often find myself using my own phone when I cannot get reception from O2.

In short, I have been with T-Mobile since they were Mercury (They were really crap then), through One to One (Or One to no-one as they were known at which point they were just crap) to now - and they are excellent .I had great reception in the Peak District and around Chesterfield recently - no surprise, also had electricity and running water - more of a surprise  .
    Hope this helps mate.

Just gone from O2 to Orange, because they were cheaper, very bad decision, drops out all over the place, hardly works at all at home, yet they say I have good coverage at home. they are rubbish, If it's a reliable and consistant network you want it has to be O2 or Vodaphone, the slight premium is worth it.

try cancelling an Orange account, been trying to cancel mine for the last week and had no confirmation from them.

Might just cancel the direct debit and take it from there.

Never going with orange again, completely sh**e.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

I was with Vodafone but found my 3G connection was very flaky and was almost impossible to connect to TZ in the pub  I went to 3 mobile, got a better tariff, and can get 3G just about anywhere (never failed) and saved a fiver a month and doubled my data. Very pleased with 3.

...and TescoMobile is on O2's network, as is GiffGaff. And Three share 3G RANs with T-Mobile and use Orange for 2G roaming. And T-Mobile and Orange share networks because they are the same company....
TM's marketing department came up with Eddie's pic back in 2005 - surprised its taken this long to leak out- and it was somehat overused internally. There's a similar one with teapots.

    Eddie,

    <logic on>
If you're a current Orange customer, I would assume you would already be gaining the benefit of the T Mobile network so your posting of this pic must be for amusement only.
    <logic off>

Just in case you're asking a serious question, I can recommend T Mobile. Their service and support is really good and the call handlers actually go out of their way to be helpful.

another one here that regrets going from O2 to orange. really rubbish coverage at home. phoned many times at the begining - told there was a mast down - for several months. then was told 'they don't guarantee reception indoors' and that the coverage in my area is excellent.

only another 6 months left

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

Just cancelled two o2 contracts (staff 30% discount, still on unlimited data!) this afternoon to go Vodafone. Within the M25 there are just too many people using o2 3G - the flip side of o2 having the rights initially to the I phone. I work an arms length from the o2 HQ in Bath road Slough and still it drops out!

I think you need to decide what is best WHERE you live - a handle full of rival PAYG sim cards might be a wise investment. Effectively I am now £20/25 a month poorer - but what price frustration of dropped calls, or straight to answer phone?

Expect a "F*****G VODAFONE thread tommorow

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

When my two contract(s)[SWAMBO and myself] with Orange end, I am off elsewhere!

I queried a couple of items on the online monthly bills and they could not be *rsed to sort it out. When I pushed harder by threatening to cancel both contracts, this snotty mare in CS smugly told me that I could hardly cancel after having two iPhone 4's from them.

I must admit that I enjoyed telling this 'mare', with equal smugness, that as I had purchased both phones from my local Apple store, ownership of the phones was none of HER'S, or ORANGE'S BUSINESS!

No, I am not a nasty git, I just treat as I am treated! :D

Orange share with T mobile now too, you should see your provider change on your handset from time to time. Moved to orange from voda, will be going back.

I've been with Vodaphone for 17 years and had no reason to change. Always get a signal and
    have always had good service.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

Having found Orange service tortuous this past year, I've just moved to Tesco. Really easy and very quick to port and much cheaper on a sim-only deal for my iPhone. Recommended.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

Been with Orange for years, keep meaning to change at each renewal but never quite manage to. (7 phones on the account, the thought of porting them all over gives me the heebies). Committed to doing it next time though as really don't think they are what they used to be... oh and coverage is pretty poor.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

was with orange since they started always managed to get a free upgrade every year until 2010. Suddenly they weren't interested in my £90 per month contribution so I went with Vodafone. Great tariffs if you go abroad a lot. Also they do a great 3 g enhancer for your home which ensures 5 bar signal in your home. No problems so far and they even phoned me to say they were dropping the monthly to £30 from £45 which was nice. Shame really orange was really good in the early years but now they're crap

Orange are rubbish IMO other than two for one at the cinema.
    Tmibile very poor.
Tesco and O2 are the same provider and excellent.
Really regret going to vodaphone as v poor and paying more.
Will def be back to Tesco or try 3 as v good feedback on it.
Try the pay and go sims, wish I had!

Been with O2, or rather BT Cellnet as it was then, since 1998 and every time I try to leave them I ask for my PAC number and they offer me a better/cheaper deal than the other network to stay.

I'm really confused as to your point?! Quite a few of us were not sure if this was originally just a joke or a serious question posed in a jokey way. You can read it either way and one of the first replies was to post the picture of the joker "not sure if serious". I would think everyone understood the original picture, just not 100% sure on whether Eddie was asking a serious question in a flippant way.

Re: Fed-up with Orange, are these any better?

Phones, O2 for me, broadband with Virgin. Tried everyone else but for where i am this is the combination that works for me. However that doesn't mean it'll be the best for everyone. I would strongly advise anyone to make sure they get a postcode coverage check before signing the contract.
