    Headphones

Hi Guys, my son is after some new headphones. He has a budget of £150.00. He wants to try and steer clear of Beats and Bose as many of his friends have these. Any suggestions?. He is looking at some from the House Of Marley.

Not sure how good the HOM ones are, I have some B&W ones which are great but they're over budget, try looking here :-

I've always thought you can't go wrong with Sennheiser, Grado is another good brand but they're open, the Grado SR80i would be in budget and look like they've won a few awards.

I tried on some House Of Marley in HMV with my ipod and was reasonably impressed with ones that cost roughly £50...thjey were amplified though. I don't think What Hifi rate the Stir It Up phones which are probably near the end of your budget....I liked Sennheisers Hd 25-sp Ii but I'll probably get some Grados

I would not be withount my Ultrasone DJ1 PRO DJ

Any of the Ultrasone range within budget would impress

    Re: Headphones

Grado sr80i are good I use a pair but they leak noise if thats a problem, I tried the b&w P5s loved the design they were very comfortable but the sound was not good no detail small sound stage and peculiarly sensitive to ear position that made them too bassy or too trebley. My solution for closed back headphones were the audio technica ath es55 but if no-ones around out come the grados.

    Headphones

I have the Grado SR60s, and they are excellent. But I had to get yellow Sennheiser foam for them because they made my ears so hot. Now they are totally pimped.
