1976 9401/0 Tudor Snowflake Submariner - correct crystal?

    Hi,

Does anyone know what is the correct acrylic crystal / plexi glass for this watch?

    Thanks in kind,

    Alex.

I believe it is a tropic plexi 19.
I had however gotten a few aftermarket domed ones from Ebay, USD10 for 3 thereabouts, and they work fine for me for everyday use (no swimming, diving, just the occassional splashes of water from handwashing).

I don't know the plexi model number but the middle watch is a 94010 and the crystal is the current replacement from Rolex, it was installed by RSC Dallas in Feb 2011. Not as domed as the original but still very nice and waterproof.

You want a tropic 19 for your Tudor. The one in the last picture is the "service replacement" t-19 commonly available.

You can also use a tropic 39 but its dome will be very high. I did this, and cut down the sidewalls of the -39 by a couple mms to get it right. Very nice look, I think.

Here's an interesting article on Rolex crystals ....
