So Its nearly time for the f1 kick off.

Now the testing faff is out the way, its time to find out who has the race pace. I am hoping Mclaren are back up there.

Re: So Its nearly time for the f1 kick off.

I'm looking forward to it, but wish it was still all on the BBC, partly as I don't have sky, but also because I think the BBC did an excellent job with the coverage last year. I really enjoyed the pre-race build ups.

I'd like Mclaren to be up there too.
I also have a lot of time for Bruno Senna and Paul Di Resta, so I'd like to see them do well in their second seasons.

And I'd quite like to see MSC and Kimi get a podium place each for old times sake!

Anyone playing Fantasy F1 ? Have £90m to pick two drivers, a constructor and an engine. Points awarded for quali and the race.

    http://fantasyf1game.net/instructions

Will set up a TZ-UK league if anyone is interested ?

Excellent "form guide" at gpguide.com, for those that take these endeavors seriously, or just want help with tie-breaker :-)

There are 10 live races on the BBC and the other 10 are shown as extended highlights of around 90 minutes a few hours after the race ends.

Re: So Its nearly time for the f1 kick off.

I've followed F1 for thirty years and watched on television most of that time (it was a bit sporadic in the early eighties). This year I'm back to where I started with just reading race reports after the event (albeit the same evening on the 'net rather than weeks or days afterwards in Motorsport / Autosport). Whilst I can perfectly afford Sky it would be hypocritical of me to give money (albeit indirectly) to an organisation that I despise. I could watch half the season on the BBC but I don't want to watch half a season and nor do I want to validate Thompson's bad decision so that's out too.

At least I'll be able to do lots of other stuff with my Sunday afternoons.

I'm torn. I can get the two or three football channels for £18 or so a month on my BT Vision box but Aston Villa are being steered to relegation by our incompetent manager and there's no point buying Sky next year if my team doesn't feature. I'm also wary of buying that and the F1 package and finding I have to start paying more when they put up subscriptions. I do like Brundle though, he's a very good commentator. On the other hand the BBC option is still pretty good. I'll see how it goes this year.

I have BT vision, its a pity you can get sky sports but not the F1 channel. Not a fan of the new title sequence

I'm hoping that several are back up there. Nothing worse than a dominant car/driver.

I'm with you Jeremy....I can afford Sky but simply don't want it.
For me it's been about 20 years and like you I'm looking forward to not being tied to the TV every other Sunday.
I'm hoping to go and see more live racing.....BTCC and British Formula 3 are always good days out.

    Duly signed up.

So who's blown half of their budget on Sebastian Vettel, then?????

Actually, I might create a few more teams before the season starts................... :D

Not a fan on the new music :( . Anyone else going to watch the season opener on Sky this Friday evening , looking forward to seeing what is on offer . With the money they have , and the pressure to do a good job it should be a decent show . Not long till Melbourne now :) .

looking forward to it.....had some cool weekends with friends watching the race on a massive screen and also had two monitors set up to show the live F1 lap times and race tracker.

I've only got the one team so far. But I think that you're allowed up to 5 teams so I might hedge my bets and enter a few more...
