    Stach straps review

I thought that I would share as you may not have heard of Stach, he is a relatively new to strap making and based in Poland. I first came across his work over on the Homage Forum. Being really impressed with the quality of his work for very reasonable prices

My first strap from him has now arrived. It did take some time in getting here from Poland. There was a delay with the post and for a while we thought it wouldn't turn up. I contacted Stach; he was great by following up with the post office his end in Poland to see what had happened and offered to supply another. Then it turned up just after.

The strap was made to my specifications and modeled one jokingly referred to as the Tolkien on the forum as it looked a bit like a wood pattern and something an elf might wear. Mine was to be in 22mm with white thread and black edging. Stach quoted me a very reasonable £32 included postage.

Once it was made Stach posted me some photo's up his blog:

    http://stachstraps.b...rey-fellow.html

Asking if everything was ok. I requested a smaller polished buckle rather than the large Pam style. Unfortunately it came with a brushed buckle instead of polished though I can always cape cod it easily enough.

After waiting patiently it arrived earlier this week.

The first thing that struck me was that the leather is great quality. Very nicely finished, the leather had been well oiled, was nice and thick. The black edging was well done, nicely stiched and put together.

Here are some photo's of the strap.

Next I mounted the strap onto my Stowa Marine Original and took some more photo's

A final shot out and about in some light:

I've tried a fair few different strap makers over the years and would not hesitate in recommending Stach's work. It is great in quality and price. The only negatives have been with the post and he kindly offered too sort those. I will certainly be putting in some more orders with him in the future :thumbleft:

Just received one of these on recommendation from Dowsing

Have to say, at half the price of other handmade straps this is by far the best I've seen.
It's supple, well made and smells beautiful.

Just need a watch to put it on now!!

I've ordered another. This time a tapered Stingray from 26mm to 24mm to go on my PRS-20LE.

As well as one of these skull buckles.

Perhaps rather too much, though can't wait to see what they both look like on the Italian.

My latest Stach turned up in the post today "Big Fish". I fitted the Skull buckle to it and began the fiddly job of changing the Italian's (Precista PRS-20LE) strap after some cursing and thinking I'd lost one of the screws down the floorboards I got there eventually.

Once again beautifully made and Stach's work has been top notch.

This is the first time that I've tried a Stingray strap. I've had a wallet for donkey's years that lasted really well.

    What do think?

It is named 'Cracked', I asked if he could make me one for my 5513 which had a vintage look in keeping with the age of the watch and it works very well.
