Thats a lovely shaped case there, enjoy :)
I know there are one or two of these lurking amongst TZ members, but this arrived last night;
A Seiko Astron 40th Anniversary edition.
I know they tend to divide opinion, it's one of those marmite watches. It also came with a lovely, and very shiny, black leather strap with a deployant clasp which I might try out. But for now it's on the straightforward and very comfy rubber strap.

Nice. It's funny how these 70's style watches are looking so current at the moment - a bit like angeche's IWC (actually from the 70's?). It's almost the golden era of watch design (despite the fact that things were about to go down the toilet).
Yeap, I do like these cushion cases. Seem to be enjoying something of a revival in popularity at the moment.
very retro, which I love. Cool looking watch.
I am not sure why it would divide opinion. Looks like a classic.
nice re-edition of a classic!
That's a nice looking Seiko.
That's pretty nice - haven't seen one of those before ... Congrats :)
That is very distinctive. I like it alot 8)
Is that a leather or rubber?
How big is that? 45mm?
A beautiful re-issue of the worlds first quartz watch - congratulations.
The original Seiko Quartz-Astron 35SQ unveiled on Dec 25th 1969:
Wow! You don't see theose every day. Is it new, or second hand?
Wow, a nice watch!
It's unused and unworn, with all original tags and packaging, but used. They were expensive at retail. This was rather less.Originally Posted by jason recliner

Beautiful and interesting watch, congratulations! :)
But that lint collecting strap needs to go, it clashes with the finish of the case.
