Like the original poster, Carl, I have a PRS-53. I'm wearing the PRS-53 like him also.

I also have a Russian Blue cat, but unlike Carl he is not in the picture!!

    Good long weekend all...

Symmetry is beautiful. This design is more balanced than 3-hander + date window.

I think this design will be more common / copied, it's so good.

Not that expensive either... (if I got the model right?)

    http://www.chrono24.com/en/glashuetteor ... ortorder=1

Andsans photo is really great, in the dealers' photos the watch doesn't even look half as good.

What could be said about the movement?

    Thanks :)

It was produced at the end of 1973.
There were three versions available, the only difference being the bezel - this one is the "pilot" version.

Nice Paris-Charles de Gaulle look on your dial, that doesn't seem to be the one in that picture above?

BUT, I have to comment on the text for the E dial.

    a) Time difference Paris to NY is 6 hours, unless some daylight saving time change is in force in only one of the cities at the specific time. Or?

    b) The second time-zone setting and readout instructions seems wrong? What if it was 11 o'clock? For sure you set 12 on the ring to 5 on the dial?

I've no idea what changes have been made to local times / time zones since the 1960s/1970's but the example seems to work okay :?
The picture below, along with the earlier one, shows that there were at least three versions of the 'pilot' bezel.

Yes, but my camera/photography skills do not really do it justice :(
