    Steinhart Grand Prix LE

Steinhart's latest forum LE (for the German watchlounge forum) has been released and the first few dozen are now with their lucky owners. Along with the Black Sea I think this right up there with the nicest watches Steinhart have made.

    Here are some details:

    1. Case Size: 44mm (New Nav.B with domed sapphire crystal case-Chrono - 5 ATM)
    2. Material: Titan (with steel-solid ground, steel and glass base (both in bead-blasted finish) and polished steel bezel with classic aluminum inlay)
    3. Color: Titanium / Stainless Steel
    3. High-gloss white dial with the "CD-Cut" deepened milled matt black subdials, Rehaut white, black bezel
    4. Accent Color Orange (Pantone 165c)
    5. Button at the 2 clock with orange accent (two electives milled grooves filled with orange color)
    6. Hands and markers are as tuned in Kaschis design design
    7. Hands and markers will receive a white blue light mass (BGW9)
    8. And crown matched as in Kaschis designs (Crown 8mm diameter, not screwed)
    9. Rotor silver with "Lankrad" design - Finish still open!
    10. Bands: Titanium band (in the Ocean-style) and a black leather racing band with orange stitching to a white rubber / leather composite band with orange stitching (two bands each in three sizes!)
    11. ETA Valjoux 7750 working in the quality grade "Top" with Soigné Finissierung
    12. Packing: white painted wooden box with big black interior, and especially, TGE cardboard slipcase for the documents in the cover.
    13. A roll of leather in black can be ordered separately at a special price on demand at Steinhart.

And here are a few borrowed pictures from the lucky owners:

Stunning watch and price but LE only, i can only assume it;s a loss leader ......i:e they dont dont make any money on it, but show they can make decent watch

Instead of the boring clones.........good on em though...

I think you'll find money is made on them. Design wise its okay for build quality and finish is exactly what you pay for om these kinds of watches.

Absolutely lovely, I like that a lot!

If Steinhart can make this, with a "top"grade 7750 for this price, I'd say Tudor Heritage, eat your heart out.

    Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!

That's very, very nice. Why don't they start doing these sorts of pieces as part of the their regular range? I certainly would have picked one up.

It looks nice at first glance to me, but I dont like the new Nav B case as I think the lugs look too fat and not as elegant as the original case. I couldnt live with the out of line markers either.

That's a really good looking watch but too big for me at 44mm. Shame, it would have been so much nicer at 42mm (not that they are available to buy).

    Steinhart Grand Prix LE

Didn't they have a grand prix model sneak preview in a pic somewhere just before the release of the ocean 2? Will try and look it up.

Especially when you consider that you are getting a 7750 instead of the dreaded piggy back concoction used in the Heritage.

    Its €910

For me - this, the Proteus and the Black Sea Limited Editions are the standouts in quite a long list of LE's that Steinhart have produced over recent years. If I could get those other two as well, I'd be a very happy man. I'll just have to make do with my own Grand Prix when it ships in June/July

Just checked, there was a sneak pic of a le mans watch by Steinhart. Not Grand Prix, so my mixup. But at least something else is coming :-)

Very nice package at a good price and I certainly respect it, I just would not buy it. Points for trying something new.

Not generally a great fan of Steinhart, but I do like the design of that one. Seems very different to what they usually have to offer.

Is it just me, I think it looks just like a TAG Carrera chrono - not that thats a bad thing - just at a far more reasonable price.

Noticed this on the Steinheart website some time ago - great to see in the flesh

Delightful: 40mm and a bit shaved off the price and I'd be in...

I think Steinhart just get better and better - just a shame that most are so big.

Ditto! That's a smidge to big for me but bring down the size a bit and I'd have one in a heartbeat. It's lovely.

Yes, same applies for me. Usually the Steinhart designs do not raise feelings, but this one is quite nice and in some way even stylish.

It does the nice trick of having the hands for time keeping, and for stopwatch, differentiated by colour. Looks good. Like the orange on the pusher, too.

Very nice watch ... everyone's raving about the design but it's definitely been "inpsired" by the Tag Carrera :)

This Steinhart has just appeared on my radar from another site, have to say great looking watch and added to my wish list !!

I'm a big Steinhart fan, but - like most of their other watches - that's far too big for me. 40mm would be ideal.

That's gorgeous. The orange accents look brilliant, especially with the rally strap.
