    Birthday Suggestion - 1977 Watch

    Hi mates,
I'd like to buy a watch for my 35th birthday.
Would you suggest me a watch dated 1977?
    Thanks!

I'd like to spend maximum 1k€.
    A not-chrono model?
    Also handwinded would be fine!

If it were me, then I would go for a Rail dial Rolex 1665 Sea Dweller (which was only made between 1977 and 78).

    Like this one

Great watches and a very nice thing to own.

Only problem is that it costs about 10 times the TC wants to spend.

Although I always tend to say: Go for a Speedy (even do-able for 1k€), I would tend to say for 1977. go for one of theseearly Quartz models......cheap as Chips for an incredible piece of engeneering...

    Hi mates,
    the 1665 is WONDERFUL!!!
That 10 times the budget is not so acceptable :D
A speedy could be only twice the budget
Maybe with some efforts I can buy one?

You might just stretch to one of these, and i think they were still selling them in 1977; although they are a love-em-or-hate them kinda watch!

You are only 35  - why not just save up and get the watch you want rather than the one you can afford - much more satisfying in the long run. I was 50 when I got my 1665
